And this is the devil:

By demonizing the herb, do you accept Anslinger's authority over that of God? Are you, in effect, denying God, who created this plant and gave it to us to use sensibly, by creating a cult around a man and a human belief? Does your desire to see this plant as specially evil come from the word of God, or that of Man?
What is the sin of those who were drawn into the witch trials, and bore false witness?

And his greatest achievement is convincing the world he doesn't exist.

Weed isn't your friend no matter how many times it tells you it is or no matter how many times it numbs your feelings so you dont havr
e to face them head on it WILL catch up with you.

For many that wont look past weeds 'beneficial' properties it is already too late. Your body was made perfect the human mind is already, naturally in perfect form. Dont fall for it

There is NO such thing as natural street weed.

You dont know where the heck your shit comes from, who it goes to before you got it. You dont know how it was grown, what hybrid it is, if it's not been grown in soil, or clean water or without artificial but also destructive material.

We dont.

And keeping weed or any other drugs (actually it's more, any of the natural sources of drugs) illegal is one huge fucking experiment.

ALl of mankind has A LOT of karma tied in with the natural plant entheogens. WE all may have benefited from them in our past or ancient history such that we may IN FACT have a sort of symbiotic relationship with them and are MEANT to have them in our lives, ie we are dependent on them. Perhaps spiritually, perhaps mentally/socially/psychologically perhaps just physically for food, or for materials WHATEVER.

But one things for sure, it's messed up. God knows why people are addicted. maybe it's because of the family unit being destroyed, maybe it's because of TFL, maybe it's because of the fact that it's just illegal, diet, whatever.

But the governments are definitely taking away good medicine, and giving it to the hands of criminals and selling it through a black market where it is thereby changed into something detrimental.

will it be abuse if eat a pound of it, sleep for a week, and wake up, as good as new? No, it won't be; i will not die or get sick.

So, what happens if this pound of some quality natural bud is consumed in bits?..

The same thing that happens if you eat a pound of any other high fiber plant, you get diarrhea. Green diarrhea.
The upper level of toxicity for weed is so high you would simply have to die from the physical action of stuffing yourself with it. Like Mama Cass on a ham sandwich.

Re: anybody else quitting weed?
Been smoking for 7 years, every.single.goddamn.day, without fail.. I used to smoke heavily during the day and then heavily during the night due to the brutal insomnia, over the past 6yrs or so I've been battling with IC, IBS, and lots of other symptoms relating to my bodys mechanisms.. I knew in the back of my head they were being caused by the MJ, my body feels so intoxicated frmo all the smoke, I have to piss and shit constantly because my body feels like it's rotting on the inside, my skin became discolored, patchy, I developed rosacea and age spots on my face(im only 26) I've lost the sense of smell, my nose is constantly clogged and it feels like my sinuses are so swollen they touch my brain, every morning I cough so hard I nearly puke, feels like lung cancer and it only goes away when I get the first toke of the day, not to mention the emotional symptoms such as depression, anxiety, etc.. the past few months I reached a tipping point, no longer could I enjoy it because I would get brutal heartburn everytime I smoke, I can tell weed has destroyed my stomach's mechanisms and now it's making my stomach acid come up every single time I smoke.. I used to smoke to deal with these problems even though I knew smoking was the cause.. due to weed's ability to somehow 'settle your stomach', as soon as the high is gone I was left with pain though, so I was stuck in a relentless vicious circle..

Yesterday I smoked and had heartburn so bad I was about to go to the ER because I thought I couldn't breathe and I was gonna die, it lasted hours and hours.. I'm still recovering from it, I feel like I've destroyed my body with smoke and it can no longer handle it.. I love weed, I love the feeling, I love how it picks me up when I feel down, but it's hurt me so much, it's like loving a woman who cheats on you.. setting a substance on fire and inhaling it will NEVER be good for your body.. and I've only smoked regular weed a handful of times in my life, I always smoke super high-grade stuff, it doesn't matter, it's still smoke and chemicals..

Today I decided to quit weed, please wish me luck...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19175422

Man, it's not the weed itself, it's THE SMOKE!

My father had exactly the same symptoms especially high acid in stomach, rhinitis (and generally irritated mucous membranes), chest pains.

We bought Volacano Vaporizer and ALL symptoms disspaeared in a matter of 2 weeks.

Just don't buy a cheap vaporizers, buy a Volcano.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29541099

Listen, I know you vaporizer fanboys don't want to hear this shit, but vaporizer high sucks ass. It's like the BEGINNING of a high or like the high you get when you smoke resin.

Especially if you have been a smoker your entire weed career. There is NOTHING compared to smoking it. That's it. Period. You get different things out of the bud at combustion temperatures. You may call it "impurties," I call it the shit that fucks your shit up RIGHT.

Fuck vaporizers and people that try to push them onto others. You have no idea what you're talking about. I own one, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I bought one when the "craze" was happening (apparently, it still is). Waste of money. It's something for neo-hippies. Pot was meant to be smoked, period. Bowl, joint, whatever suits your fancy. SMOKE IT.

OP, I hear you. I'm a 10+ yr potsmoker, on the daily, and I recently quit because I fucking HATE people that sell weed. I just got to the point where I fucking refused to give ONE MORE PERSON money for it. So, I quit... out of SPITE. HA! Suck it, drug dealers and your shady sacks! I'm sick and fucking tired of checking the weight on a piddly ass sack where some fag wants to be all cool breakin up a couple OZs to sell and is making a bag a .5g short here and there so he can smoke for free at my expense.

These mother fuckers don't know I'M THE ONE paying THEM, not the other way around. And if I don't like the business, I'm not going to be a fucking customer anymore... negros in inner-city Memphis sell better sacks than these flaugin ass white boys pinching bags. At least they make a career out of it.

So, yeah, quitting the first 3 days to a week is the worst, then after that, you're fine. And if you DO decide to toke up again... Oooohhh... it's like you're 14 all over again, so it has it's perks. But, yeah, when I smoke, it turns into a daily thing quickly. I think it's more habitual than anything. I don't think the weed itself is addictive as much as the routine and ritual of it is.

Good luck to you.

Re: anybody else quitting weed?
I (looks pompous) think the reason for morning vomiting from weed is due to its effects on biliary motility.

I want HIDA scans on all the folks with cannabis induced hyperemesis.

But the studies lack any detail. Its pretty much: "They puked. They stopped weed. They stopped puking. Weed Bad."

We could be learning something vital about cannabinoids effects on a body system. This could give rise to some therapeutic results (how many medical discoveries have arisen from toxic stats. The extreme gives you an invaluable view into the the system's overall function)-but we would rather demonize weed with the "study" than advance medical science.

Hell no I'm not quitting. But that doesn't mean others shouldn't. It's a foreign substance you're putting in your body, it could be caramel or lemonade or barley. Some people can't take certain things, some people shouldn't have certain things in high doses. Duh. If people want to blame the weed first before trying other things, so? So what? People do that with other things too. They start feeling bad and stop eating dairy or carbs or whatever. Same premise.

You guys all sound like fucking junkies..

It's still a GODDAMN DRUG...you don't have to get high forever and ever ever..

I already said I love weed with all my goddamn soul, Ive devoted a huge part of my life to it.. spent probably hundreds of thousands on it.. defended it till death to parents/peers.. wrote papers about MJ legalization in college..

It started hurting me. Period. Like I said, I work out everyday, I only eat healthy food, my family are health nuts who only buy gluten-free wholefoods stuff, I never eat junk food, sodas, alcohol, or anything else.. WTF else am I doing wrong that could possibly affect me other than smoking a shitload of weed?

For the past month or so, immediately after I smoke, Ive been getting HORRIBLE heartburn.. culminating in what I can only describe as a heartburn-attack yesterday.. it never happened before, if it wasn't for it I would be here dickriding weed to hell with all you guys.. I'm getting tangible negative effects frmo ingesting this drug, I can't put it any more in black and white..

You guys are brainwashed if you can't accept the fact that MJ is not absolutely perfect and it can actually hurt you.. nothing in this world is perfect, nothing is harmless.. ppl get SOO offended about it.. Im not telling you guys to quit smoking, I'm tryng to connect with those who WANT to quit because they've experienced problems.. you guys can keep going all you want.. smoke for 80 years if you want, act like nothing is wrong with it.. I, along with many other ppl, just cant do it anymore...

weed is addictive as fuck, the only difference with other drugs is that you can live a relatively normal life while still maintaining the habit..
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 19175422

Beg to differ. I smoked every day for like 5 years, quit for 7, started smoking again daily for several months, quit for a couple months, and occasionally partake now. I've never had a withdrawal.

Yes it feels good to smoke pot. It helps my chronic back pain and the constant ache of the 15 or so abscessed teeth I have that are slowly being pulled. Of -course- it feels better to be high than not be high. If it didn't, people wouldn't get high.

Regarding the original post, though:

Yeah, pot is not causing that. The constant bladder and bowel issues are likely a result of the coughing from the smoking. Not from the pot, but from the coughing. I know this because occasionally the coughing from smoking results in the same for me. I would follow the people's advice about a vaporizor if you're just looking to get rid of the smoke related issues.

If you're intending to seek out sobriety, then I say good luck. There's always going to be some substance somewhere that makes life feel better than it does when you're not using it. If you truly have that many issues with self restraint (because, let us be clear, it has been shown that it is not physically addictive), then a change of your mindset is in order, I think. Because that is going to be of great assistance to you in the future.
As above, So below.

Yup.... OP is full of shit in this thread. He says he feels like he has lung cancer yet is oblivious to the fact that studies have shown there is no connection between marijuana smoking and lung cancer:

[link to www.webmd.com]
[link to www.washingtonpost.com]

When questioned about his health, OP reports to only eat home-cooked meals (no junk food) and to work out 5 times a week and play football 2 times a week - as if to paint the picture of total physical fitness and healthy habits other than his weed smoking, yet in his original posts he proclaims that marijuana has destroyed his body, destroyed his stomach, destroyed his sense of smell, clogged his nose and sinuses, ruined is skin, given him heartburn, and made him want to puke.

So a person who has destroyed his body (his words) from smoking is working out 5x a week, playing football, and eating healthy? Does that add up? Why would a person who is allegedly so committed to physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle be so irresponsible in abusing another substance alleged to destroy his body? Does that make sense?

Lastly, you can see from his antagonistic demeanor in response to other marijuana smokers in this thread that he is indeed NOT one himself, and seeks to attack those who do partake. Have you ever seen an alcoholic verbally berate/demean other people for drinking alcohol?

This thread was nothing but grade A shillery and many people fell for the bait.

Any responsible and informed adult knows that there are many things in life that should only be consumed in moderation and that abuse of any substance is potentially harmful to your psychological and physical well-being.

OP is a troll and an obvious one at that.

This thread makes me want to go smoke weed.

I have a lovely skunk, in natural hemp wrappers, that has been sprayed with tincture and allowed to dry and cure over several days. Using tincture to infuse a joint is very similar to the process used to cure tobacco with rum.

Re: anybody else quitting weed?
It should be noted that several personality disorders (especially borderline personality) include physical symptoms as well, and IBS-like intestinal disturbances are common. Note additionally the co-occurring symdrome for PD's that is the most common: which is substance "abuse", frequently including cannabis use. They are certainly self medicating, yet the societal climate throws a wrench in the subtle healing powers of cannabis.

I am not suggesting that the OP has a personality disorder, but IBS and other intestinal problems are common for those that do. The biology is connected.
