Who's not Having Christmas Dinner this year? Financially Strapped.

In light of my abject poverty, my friend will be providing my Christmas dinner for me this year.

He's been a good friend for about six years, and I really appreciate the sacrifice he's undertaking for me. I'll miss him, though...

Don't worry, OP. Like you said, you give throughout the year in various ways ... now you're just trying to do something for a fellow GLPer ... nothing wrong with that. Not all charitable work needs to be done behind the scenes and hush hush.

I don't do Christmas, its a material trap having nothing to do with God. Dinner or otherwise.

I was going to originally going to offer a 5 year old fruit cake. Still looks good. ;-)

LOL. Yeah..I think the fruitcakes have been proven to outlast a Twinkie.

We have a 20 yr old fruitcake we keep passing around the family at holiday time every year.

The joke never gets old and it's always fun to see who ends up with it on Christmas Day, lol.

I am a Chrisitian and I donate monthly to charity, I donated several Thanksgiving dinners this year, several toys to charity in addition to being a foster parent...and I am offended by your put your money where your mouth is to Chrtisian comment.

Christmas dinner? sheesh, i'm barely able to celebrate the holiday at all. and neither are most of my neighbors, friends and relatives.

I am making dinner, it wont be a big dinner but that's fine with me, it's just me and my son and I am just happy to be with him this year.

I just wanted to say how very nice it is of you to do this for someone. I am sure a nice family will have a very merry Christmas due to your generosity. If I could help out I would, maybe next year. Maybe it could be a GLP tradition.
