LoL! @ the ignorant fucktard....

Do you really think things are so great? Better than say 1970 or 80?

We ran around the neighborhoods until dark with no fear.

We had fun and played real games that helped us work shit out and learn to resolve issues, not just blow people the fuck away because they hurt our feelings.

We won actual trophies - EVERYONE on the team didn't get a fucking ribbon.

We didn't need fucking psychotropic drugs to get through the school day.

Ya, they world is sooooo much better.

Either is banning video games.

Was it a gang member who went in & killed these children? No. It was a civilian, bro. In case you didn't get the memo.

It's actually time America looks at it's gunlaws & reforms them. Whilst there were less than a hundred gun related deaths in places like Japan, Britain, Switzerland, Canada, Israel, Sweden, & germany, America had over 10,000. & you're saying stricter laws aren't the answer? Ok.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1395091

That's exactly what I'm saying. If you want to make school shootings a thing of the past, having armed people on the site will go a long way toward making that goal a reality.

Criminals don't obey laws, if you haven't noticed. Restrictive gun laws aren't going to reduce gun crime any more than Prohibition reduced drinking...but they'd go a long way toward helping a crime syndicate specializing in gun running increase their wealth, power, and influence.

And you mentioned Switzerland...they GIVE guns to their adult citizens and train them in their use. The reason there's so little gun-related crime there is that everyone is armed!

Schools are perfect targets for insane gunmen. Columbine...Virginia Tech...now CT. Shooters know they can kill a LOT of people when there's nobody around to fire back at them. I asked before and I'll ask again: why don't these mass shootings take place at gun ranges?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8032361

because gun ranges dont have nearly the head count as a school.

There are way to many kids playing COD... under 18. Adults are fine..
But way to many kids.. and they say bad words and shoot people.

There needs to be something to stop that part of gaming.
Movies are one thing but a simulator is another thing.

Xbox live needs to add a report button for kids that are playing games under there age bracket.

it's true though

the generation this kid belongs to grew up on extremely graphic / realistic first person shooters & grand theft auto..

they don't watch T.V.

They don't have jobs..

They are "gamers"

and it's all they do... all day... every day... for YEARS!

they have become so desensitized and disconnected from reality this type of act becomes a new way of living out their video game fantasy world..

it's like the 4chan troll generation

they have serious mental issues & no one to guide them

the problem isn't weapons

the problem is this fucked up society leading our children down the path of depravity from birth

Call me pessimistic, but I find it ironic how Americans are all about freedom & rights & how guns re-inforce your freedom - when you're currently living in fear & NEED to carry weapons for your own & others safety. That doesn't make sense, my friend.

Gun ranges are not dense enough for shooting sprees. These killings come down to the fact that weapons are being weilded by retards, not because people don't have enough guns.

What about Doom? Do you remember that one? It came out in 1993 so I have to wonder where all the hardcore killers are that played it when they were teens.

What about Mario? I mean, think about it... at the end of the level, there was a peace sign on the flag. That means this jerk was destroying their brick architectures and killing Koopas who only wanted peace.

I played Doom a lot in 1995. I now lobby on the Hill with Congress for financial legislation that serves The Powers That Be more than the sheep. You do the math.

So, are you known for walking around with a shotgun?
 Quoting: Brian Moser

Hell no, that's the point. I'm known for walking around terrorizing Congress with threats of removing our support their re-election if they don't go for the legislation we want (none of which is ever anything *bad* necessarily or I wouldn't be able to do this for a living). What's worse?

Doom and GTA certainly didn't groom me for that.

I have been known to come straight home and head to the virtual world to blow some sh*t up after a long day, though, but that's different.

it goes back HUNDREDS and THOUSANDS of years not DECADES.

and best of all you completely ignore the fact that kids are MOLDED BY PREVIOUS GENERATION. if the kids are "so bad" _ITS_YOUR_FAULT_.

way to take responsibility. by the way in my neighborhood kids play sports in the fields stay out after dark, maybe its shit where you live cos you're there, ever think about that?

Rashness belongs to youth; prudence to old age.
--Marcus Tullius Cicero quotes (Ancient Roman Lawyer, Writer, Scholar, Orator and Statesman, 106 BC-43 BC)

In youth and beauty, wisdom is but rare!
--Homer quotes (Greek poet presumed author of the Iliad and the Odyssey, 9th-8th century bc)

Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
(2 Timothy 2:22)

People assume too much.

The world can blow you back to Hell!

Emotions are only a part of the total mental picture. Intellect is suppose to be used as well.

If no one is figured this out yet, or how to control emotions, then it is their fault, not other people's fault if they respond normally.

Some of you posters better be joking with such rude, crude comments.

Re: ban video games first
I disagree on the banning of the games part. BUT these dads who think its fine to play first person shooters day in and day out with their 6 year olds are wrong. We need kids games again and to keep them away from mature rated games until they are older. The teen ratings on many games need to be slid to mature rating as well.

This goes for tv and movies too. All the super hero movies that should be for kids are crafted more for the parents who used to read the comics when they were kids. There is no innocent media For Kids anymore really. The cartoons of the past 15 years have been frenetic, twisted and bizarre. Everything has merged into "adults must be able to enjoy this too" and because of that so much is inappropriate.

Trinity, you are 1000 percent right on. Gaming is all kids want to do anymore. Drive thru an area where there should be kids out playing, riding bicycles ect, they are absent as if all kids had been stolen. In fact they have been stolen by tv and video games. Few kids even watch tv anymore. The 60 inch in their living room is hooked to the internet an that is where they are. Parents are to blame in the end.

how about this - if you believe video games are bad for your children - train them to use the guns in the video games. familiarize a pistol with your child/children.
