Shooting at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, CA

Actually, I rushed to Starbucks to share the video with my friends on GLP! Just got home now.

I wanted to stay and video some more, but my daughter was freaking out on the other side of the mall with Mom, so I had to go. I posted a second vid showing the aisle the shooter was in as I drove by to get out, but still it is pretty far away. I am looking at another vid to see if I can make out anything which was taken after the original vid. As soon as YouTube finishes processing it, I will post the link.

You can barely make the shooter out. He is just beneath the little redish triangle immediately left of the two palm trees in the center of the picture.

WOW! I am so glad you're safe. It only take seconds, as we've all seen too many times.

I just moved across country, away from Orange County, for a reason...too many people, believing they are safe from turmoil, because they live in a wealthy region. I used to shop here all of the time, as it has a new Whole Foods, outdoor mall, etc.

From what I have read so far, only one person was injured being partially trampled by other running away from the shooter. No one was hit by the shooter, at least as it is being reported.

Admittedly it's been more years than I'd care to admit since I've been near Newport Beach (I lived in SoCal when in my early 20's, and used to drive to Laguna Beach every once in awhile) but even back then the towns along Pacific Coast Highway were pretty high-end. I don't recall any "ghettos" there; perhaps things have changed?
