But I guess we will see. Quoting: Apple Ugly Isn't the Church the woman called into the 'wilderness'? think about it The angel says come out of her my people. The dragons spews a flood at her. But the earth opens up to swallow it. Remind you of anything? It could be an end times exodus :-) BTW Ishtar is the Whore of Babylon, the Mother of Harlots (Cicero) She has many names. :-D praise be to God! |

OP The ancient Biblical archetype was the Babylonian empire that held Israelites [and most of the other peoples in the Middle East] captive. Israelites did not leave Babylon until it was time [God had decreed a 70 year Babylonian punishment] then God's Anointed King from the East, Cyrus, conquered Babylon, liberated the captives and returned/restored Babylon's captives back to their native lands. Quotes from Jeremiah 51: " Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD'S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed. We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies. " * " And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall. My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD. " . . |

King Cyrus' decree for a portion of the Israelites to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple. The temple was completed by decree of King Darius [Cyrus' son-in-law.] Quotes from Ezra 1 " In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the Lord spoken by Jeremiah, the Lord moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and to put it in writing: “This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: “‘The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah. Anyone of his people among you — may his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem in Judah and build the temple of the Lord, the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem. And the people of any place where survivors may now be living are to provide him with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with freewill offerings for the temple of God in Jerusalem.’” . |

The immigrant poem associated with the statue glorifies the peoples of the nations flowing into Babylon [see the Jeremiah quote in my previous post.] . |

OP Read the Bible story about King Josiah and how when he decreed a repair on the temple, they found the books of God's Law [apparently none of them knew God's Law.] King Josiah was very upset because Israel was disobeying God's Law... they had even allowed sodomites in God's temple. King Josiah knew that if his kingdom continued in sin [sin = transgression of God's Law] his kingdom would be destroyed. So, King Josiah repented and rid his kingdom of the evil that offended God. Because King Josiah repented and made amends, God allowed Jerusalem to continue for the rest of the king's life... so that the king would not see the horrible destruction God would eventually bring upon Jerusalem and the temple. That destruction would come in the form of Babylon and Edom - Babylon destroyed Jerusalem and Edom burned the temple... and the Israelites were carried away captive for 70 years. . |

Therefore, consider the word and understand the vision: 24 “Seventy ‘sevens’[c] are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish[d] transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place.[e] 25 “Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One,[f] the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. 26 After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing.[g] The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’[h] In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple[j] he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.[k]”[l] |

I wait until God is ready to reveal it to me. Those specific verses parallel the 70 years Israel was desinted to be in Babylonian bondage until God's Anointed King [Cyrus] conquered Babylon and liberated Israel. Interesingly, Cyrus was about 62 years old when he conquered Babylon ["Darius" in the book of Daniel is another title for Cyrus.] Which means, Cyrus was born about 7-8 years into Israel's captivity. I have it in my mind that for our time it should be read backwards... but as I said... I don't want to force a subjective interpretation. . |

Quoting: Revelation 182 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. 4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. 6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. 7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. 8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. 9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, 10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. 11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: 12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, 13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. 14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. 15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, 16 And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! 17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, 18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! 19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. 20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her. 21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. 22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; 23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. YES! AMEN! Avenge us LORD.. For the time has come. |

Seven years later, 1952, God's Anointed was born. 1952 was a huge year for UFO sightings... including a two major UFO incidents in Washington DC. If the analogy holds true... 62 years later [unless God cuts the time short] Mystery, Babylon will be totally destroyed. . |
