Bullets found on bus! All Red Wing schools are on lockdown today after a Tower View Alternative Learning Center student reported receiving a threatening call that alluded to a potential shooting at the school. ... 11 a.m. update: In addition to the telephone threat, there were suspicious items found on a bus. That issue has been resolved satisfactorily, school officials said in an email alert at 11 a.m. "Students were not in danger at any time as a result of those items," Anderson wrote. 11:15 a.m. update: A press release issued by the Red Wing Police Department just after 11 a.m. reported that the suspicious items found on the bus were bullets. A student came forward just after the lockdown began this morning and said that the .22LR rounds were his and that they were forgotten in his jacket after he had been coyote hunting, "thereby confirming that the bus activity is unrelated to the general threat," the release said. Investigation into the threat is continuing. Last Edited by Laura Bow on 12/19/2012 02:24 PM |
