It's years learning curve to produce meaningful simply response to robotic arm, for example. IBM neural simulator is just a model, don't be impressed of the number of simulated neurons and synapses. Put together all neural researchers in the word, and they have no idea how even a single synapse really works. Take a bee. With just a few neurons it can fly, find food, clean the body, mate, perform complex computations of fly-route, communicate the route to others, navigate back to nest, build a nest, organize a society, fight back to invaders, maintain immune system, which partly operates with neural interaction, and lots of others. I think you are overestimating the value of paid research reports, which main aim is to impress to get more funds. Read those reports again with critique. |
