Singularity near as Ray Kurzwell gets prestigious "Director of Engineering" at Google. BORG IT!
Kurzwell is one of the leading figures pushing for the singularity aka Post Human era...

Do you look forward to waking up inside a vessel with a feeding tube hooked up to your face? Aren't you thrilled for the future, so you can have smart dust aka nano sized microchips lodged into your brain for fuel to the BEAST system Borg Hive?

First its the Smartphone, next its gonna be augmented glasses and shortly after that the integration takes effect. Combination of man and machine, merged into one jeroboam. If you've seen some of the recent technologies within the realms of Nanotech and Supercomputers, you wouldn't laugh.

Recent articles of Nanobots merged with Rat Heart Cells allow these nanogoblins to walk. Scientists are uncovering new delivery mechanisms everyday with viruses, bacteria and other nature made movers. HP "Hewlett Packard" has been working on a program since at least 2008 called "CNeSE" Central Nervous System of the Earth, which tracks the entire planet and everything on it via real time 24/7 with over a TRILLION nano sized sensors aka nodes, tracking movements at the micro level.

Kurzwell is HELL bent on turning the world into a POST HUMAN MATRIX, just read his book "The Singularity" and call me a conspiracy theorist....

Today, he starts his new job as Director of Engineering at Google. It's unclear what he'll be doing but anyone who has heard of Google's X Lab might be able to put two and two together. The X Lab is a secret facility where technologists are working on 100 projects pertaining to future technologies. Surely Kurzweil will get a peak inside.

Not sure what the prob is, Rays book is great, and although I don't agree with everything he has stated, you need to remember that almost all the things he has predicted have come to pass. I see no problem if I can live forever. But people like yourself will always exist that promote F.U.D. and thats a shame because you've created a knee-jerk reaction to something you probably haven't researched properly.

Transhumanism = Transition into a new hu-man which is merged with machine in most cases.

The Singularity is when all technologies merge with what we might consider Godlike abilities.

Machines creating machines creating machines, etc.... and over and over and over.......... 1010101010101010 Ë

The name Transhumanism, has also been changed to Humanity +, or H+ . To give it a more comforting sound. Thank you marketing minions.

I look forward to becoming transhuman. Fairly sure I have enough money to let the OP rot in his meatbag as I become immortal. Some people embrace technology, some people are scared by it (Mostly, people who don't want to understand it or are incapable of understanding it). I'll let you figure out which one is more fit for survival in a modern world where machines and algorithms are the largest driving force for unemployment and economic growth. (That's right kiddies, the economy is BOOMING. People aren't getting their jobs back because I'm busy coding their replacements. China is about ten years away from the same problem.)

This isn't some NWO goal. This is the natural consequence of a free market economy cyclically pushing technological limits every five years or so. Within 40 years, most of you won't recognize the world you live in and will wind up with two options: Become smarter and more capable via technological upgrades, or fade into obscurity with small communities of like-minded luddites. I promise I won't subjugate you too much.

The same way human brains already deal with bugs. Redundancy. Homemade EMP generators? Hah. Too much science fiction, too little science fact. Not only is the kind of EMP you're thinking about out of the reach of most people, we're about three or four transistor generations away from EMP proof devices. (A transistor generation being between 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 years)

If you don't have the money to subscribe to 30 or so scholarly journals, I highly recommend you get access to a University database A.S.A.P.

"This extraterrestrial Intervention is being focused in four arenas:
It is influencing individuals in positions of power and authority to cooperate with the Intervention through the promise of greater wealth, power & technology
It is creating hidden establishments in the world from which the Intervention can exert its influence in the Mental Environment, seeking to make people everywhere open and compliant to its will through a “Pacification Program”
It is manipulating our religious values and impulses in order to gain human allegiance to their cause
It is taking people against their will, and often without their awareness, to support an interbreeding program designed to create a hybrid race and a new leadership who would be bonded to the “visitors”"

Never will happen. For example in the 90's they predicted that pc computing power exceeds human brain around 2020. We are not far from 2020 but computers are as stupid as before, just a bit faster.

Besides brain science has found out that each synapse has actually the power of a supercomputer, and each of the 100 billion neurons in a brain have 100 or even thousands synapses. And the neurons have a property called plasticity, which means that neuron and synapse configurations are in constant flux, day by day.

Now, good luck integrating some dummy computer tech into this highly complex neural system. Transhumans will be just mindless jerks, reacting to primitive neural trigger events, mostly failing and producing wrong reactions, if any.

But instead, in 2020 we might have that glass-less 80 inch 3D display in the living room, or as a computer display. That would be pretty cool!

All those 30 or so journals you subscribe to are worthless if you think EMP generators are science fiction today. You can add transistors to proof yourself but there will always be a backdoor or another way to mess your components.. if you are sensing your environment as you will be you are open to a rogue coupler that will fuck you up if necessary, any hacker with a few good old fashioned brain cells will be able to do that.

This is a touching video of a quadriplegic woman using a brain-computer interface to control a robotic arm using only her brain. We can already incorporate tech into the human brain. The next step is to increase bio-compatibility and to make it wireless.

The "scientific" facts being bandied about by detractors are hideously incorrect. IBM has simulated almost half the neurons in a human brain, reaching a simulation of 53 billion neurons and 100 trillion synapses. The number of synapses is only one order of magnitude away from a typical child's brain.

This IS a reality. If you have access to REAL information, the kind of stuff that people pay 1000 usd a year per journal to access, you'd realize how wrong you are. Either adapt or fade away.

The number of synapses is only one order of magnitude away from a typical child's brain.

^ This is such a terrible post it deserves only enough of a response to point out how terrible it is.

This IS a reality. If you have access to REAL information, the kind of stuff that people pay 1000 usd a year per journal to access, you'd realize how wrong you are. Either adapt or fade away.

Once again your attempt to sound smart and prestigious, unveils your stupidity. LOL $1000 a journal to access, moron!

This is a touching video of a quadriplegic woman using a brain-computer interface to control a robotic arm using only her brain. We can already incorporate tech into the human brain. The next step is to increase bio-compatibility and to make it wireless.

Neural plasticity means that you just cannot plug-in a device and expect it to work. Each brain has custom architecture, which is evolving. It's years learning curve to produce meaningful simply response to robotic arm, for example.

IBM neural simulator is just a model, don't be impressed of the number of simulated neurons and synapses. Put together all neural researchers in the word, and they have no idea how even a single synapse really works.

Take a bee. With just a few neurons it can fly, find food, clean the body, mate, perform complex computations of fly-route, communicate the route to others, navigate back to nest, build a nest, organize a society, fight back to invaders, maintain immune system, which partly operates with neural interaction, and lots of others.

I think you are overestimating the value of paid research reports, which main aim is to impress to get more funds. Read those reports again with critique.

fuck this shit, im tired of fucking technology, its becoming so pointless

Technology got women out of the house so now strangers raise your kids. So all the freed up home time is converted into work somewhere else and maintain a home. Yes sir that technology sure has made life easier and seemingly destroyed the family, destroyed community interaction in person type stuff. Best of all technology allowed someone to now force 2 incomes instead of one to support a family and it is becoming 2 1/2 to 3 incomes to support 2 kids and a home. That is some fine dream America. The American Dream.....what was it again?
