Re: How Could The Mayans Be Wrong?
2012? How do you know it is 2012, relative to what? You do know the western calendar has been revised several times and has extreme inaccuracies. Look at the middle ages. People didn't even keep track. Historians can't even determine the year Jesus was born on. So how do you expect them to correlate our calendar with the real "Mayan 2012".

Hey guys, look:

Thread: According to the Mayans, it is 2015, not 2012 that the World ends....

I personally had a dream in which I saw the numbers 2012.. and the 2 flipped into a 5.

Re: How Could The Mayans Be Wrong?
Failure is either subjective, or it could be the start of a huge change. We really wont know until after the 21st passes and several months go by.

But also, the calendar has been changed and it may not align perfectly with the actual Gregorian date they claim.

Another thing is I believe they got much of their knowledge from an entity not known for telling the truth. So, was the calendar they used actually the one we think it was, or did the entity give it to them, and lie about the end time event, we again wont know for some time. But hey, there is still several hours left today, and who knows what may happen before the calendar changes to the 22nd.

But the world of course wont end today, that I never believed.

According to Mayan Elders, it happens on the 22nd, around noon.

There will be 8 minutes of total mind awakening, total open mind with no deceptions.

They said to write down your thoughts, and sort through them aftarward to determine which you can take action on.

Oh and by the way, I'm O type negative, and have not only precognitive ability, but have been in contact with these super natural entities more times than I can remember, so maybe I should write a book about when I believe the actual end will be. It's towards the end of this century, I think, so people suck it up and move on with your life.

Everything the Mayans predicted did happen including the enlightenment. They left a gift of one day that the whole world focused on for months. Not just a country or a culture but the whole world saw the Mayans as nothing different than themselves. They were brilliant people who reached into our solar system and beyond with nothing more than their eyes and souls. It took us until recent times to see with our billion dollar space probes what they did with nothing but observation. Anybody who can't see this should turn their TV on and go back to sleep

Just a simple thought, a Baktun is 144,000 days, equal to 394.26 tropical years so if we have just entered the Baktun wouldn't it be suggested that we need to wait awhile until it's completetion....

Exactly. Why worry about it. Looks like NASA was right that nothing will happen after all. Life is too short to worry about the end of the world.

They did not PREDICT anything. They recorded their dates and observations so they would know things like when there would be an eclipse, an alignment, a full moon, solstice etc. They did not predict a thing. This was a culture where the leader of the losing team in a soccer match would be put to death, just for sport. Keep things in perspective here.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1532712

Exactly.

I live here. I've been to the Mayan holy site (Tikal) more than once. You know what the purpose was to keep track of celestial alignments? To KEEP THE SHEEPLE UNDER CONTROL. Mayan leaders were the pampered class. They had the best houses, best foods, etc. you can see the site for yourself of you wish.

Because of their knowledge, they told people when to plant, when to harvest, etc. When the population got restless, they made a show of "forcing" the moon or sun to hide or change appearance (eclipses, red moons, etc). People would freak out and keep on obeying.

The Mayan leaders were the original TPTB.

Their little game ended when people wised up, questioned their "powers" and rebelled. The leaders were summarily executed and people took off, rather than stay and support a ruling class.

Come down and learn some history AND perspective, instead of following charlatans hopped up on LSD.
