Luisport.

Just outside of Philly area to the west. The weather report last evening was for scattered rain and winds gusting up to 30 MPH in my area.

Well the rain part was right but the winds were so high I spent a sleepless night due to branches hitting my roof. My bed is under a large window and the wind was coming right towards it. I was seriously considering sleeping in the den because the wind gusts were so high it seemed like the window would blow out. Not sure what the speed was but it definitely was higher than 30 MPH.

Seriously for about two hours I could liken it to Sandy. Flooding is definitely due to high tides because the rain was not a big deal. Just sounded like it was coming down because of the driving wind.

wasn't the wind blowing west-ward? why didn't it take the water out to sea, why would it come inland when it was blowing sea-ward ...

something else it happsening ... and it IS happening whether some want to believe it or not ... "it" has been going on since Sandy, just ask the people in Florida who's beaches are being eaten away by rising water

34 degrees latitude, 300 miles inland from the East Coast. The wind has been blowing 20-30 mph since yesterday evening, with very few breaks. Not a storm, as such, but very unusual for continuing winds at that velocity in our area. We are not a windy place. These are not "gusts" of wind, but steady excepting a few intervals of several minutes when it quietens.

Wind is blowing now and it sounds something like a soft roar, perhaps because of pine trees.

The presidential candidates may not be talking about rising sea waters, but South Florida residents are. This week, higher than normal tides flooded Miami's South Beach, swamping streets, people and businesses.

"It has been like a high tide coming in," said one person,"but there's no explanation, it hasn't really been raining."

Top scientists say in the future, climate change will make flooding much worse. They drew up a map to illustrate the expected flood risk along Florida's coastline in 2060. The color red means "underwater".

And Professor Ben Kirtman,of the University of Miami, says the long-term projections look much worse.

1 cup of sugar (coffee size)
Orange and lemon peels dried, Cinnamon stick, Carnation of india (spice), ginger

ive been living in a beach cottage since 1978, the water is not higher. the worst flooding was the storm of 78, the second worst was 91. i can not get to my cottage during high tide, same as it was in 1978, same as it was in the 50s when my grandfather lived there, the same. massachusetts is where im located, yes i live on a dune, no electricity, 4wd only. storms are not getting worse. oh and yes my cottage does not face the open ocean, those houses are gone, because of stupidity, not global warming.

was the rollercoaster destroyed because of rising water and a superstorm or because people are so stupid they build a rollercoaster on the beach, you can replace rollercoaster with boardwalk, house etc. breaking news there will be flooding in the spring, followed by hot weather.
