Quoting: FreshAirGirl I live in Southwestern BC. It does have a Blue Hue to it. Cloudy here tonight so had to hang out a while for the clouds to part a bit. Its bright also. Two nights ago it was waxing from the bottom up. Last night waxing from the left. Tonight not really waxing at all just looking like a smaller version of itself and blueish. Don't even start in about field rotation. That doesn't work around these parts anymore. WAY over used for everything. Shut the hell up!!! I'm an Amateur Astronomer. I can't stand BS threads like this. Yes, a random Blue Katrina or whatever it is called magically appears and is visible to everyone. LMAO. Of course I'm going to be in these threads. The responses are pretty damn funny. Just mind your own DAMN business. Seems to me round about 75% on this site are Amateur Astronomers simply amazing . |

The blue is visible again tonight. A few nights ago NASA claimed to have crashed 2 satellites into the northern pole of the moon. Because they were running low on fuel was one reason that i saw posted. Could they have been moving them closer to the moon to see something behind it? Why out of the whole surface of the moon would the pick the northern pole area? Would't targeting the very tip of the moon give a lot more room for error, and a chance of missing the moon all together. Unless maybe they wanted to get just above the edge to check out something behind it and hoped to still be shielded by the moon itself.... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 3579277 United Kingdom 12/25/2012 05:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have just gone out and had a look at 10:20 pm Northern England.....its an optical illusion....the blue does appear more towards the top right hand side, and slightly less on bottom left hand side of Moon. If you look at the Moon out of the side of your eyes, the optical effect disappears.....also disappears if you look at the Moon with binoculars. Optical illusion thats all....probably from the brightness of the moon. Don't know what the two bright planets are with it though? |
