A DAMMING EVENT ACROSS THE CAROLINAS ON WEDNESDAY WITH A SECONDARY TRIPLE POINT LOW RIDING NORTHWARD ALONG A LIFTING WEDGE FRONT WITH AN INFLUX OF WARM SECTOR AIR WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON INTO THE NC COASTAL PLAIN AND POSSIBLY CENTRAL PIEDMONT...VERY SIMILAR TO THE EPISODE THIS PAST THURSDAY.
GIVEN SUCH A COMPLEX SET UP...FORECAST WILL HINGE ON THE EVOLUTION OF THE WEDGE FRONT AND TRIPLE POINT LOW...WITH A POTENTIAL FOR A HIGH SHEAR-LOW CAPE SEVERE WEATHER EVENT ACROSS THE CENTRAL AND ESPECIALLY EASTERN PORTIONS OF THE STATE. THIS WILL NEED TO BE MONITORED FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. I'm in Virginia and on the eve of the 21st the winds were so strong that our entire family kept making jokes about God having a sense of humor... and my husband (who is the furthest thing from a believer that could possible exist) was not able to sleep well.

NJ COAST INTO THURSDAY MORNING BEFORE LIFTING NORTHEAST. WILL START

In Southeastern Virginia here and I've noticed the wind howling almost constantly, with pretty heavy gusts. It's out of the ordinary compared to the weather the past couple of months here, but I forget what winter is like seeing as how I just finished spending 7 years in the valley of the sun. So this may be normal... however it's quite noticeable.

2 days ago in St. Louis I watched a huge tree in my neighbor's yard get blown down and take out the main power lines for our neighborhood. We got the power back after 30 hours. Now calm...until next time...

A surface low moving out of deep south Texas will bring showers and isolated thunderstorms into the region during the early morning hours on Tuesday. Storms will gradually increase in size and strength through the morning hours ahead of the surface low. The low is expected to track into southeast Texas during the late morning hours and finally into central Louisiana by the early afternoon hours. As this develops... southeast Texas and southern Louisiana will open up to moist unstable gulf air and there is a threat of severe thunderstorms at this time. As this is a fast moving system... the surface low and cold front is expected to exit south central Louisiana around sunset on Tuesday with storms ending. Much colder air will then spill into the northwest gulf region during the overnight hours on Wednesday with morning lows falling back into the 30s
