Joining AMORC a Rosicrucian order

To clarify I don't know whether or not I want to join...

not good motivation to join anything like that i.e. for a desire of "cool powers"

Join it and see for yourself what's involved. Not like there's much of a risk besides losing a few bucks.

There are multiple Rosicrucian groups...they are not the same.

Nor really worth joining in my opinion. My wife and I have both joined and basically it takes years of dedication and work to get anywhere within the AMORC. Also if you want to actually do things within the order you have to attend a lodge so it requires physical and mental time. Most, if not everything on the basis of what the AMORC does is available online in one form or another. If you buy or download the main Rosicrucian books like Fama Fraternitatis, the Chymical Wedding, and read maybe Manly P. Hall's Secret Teachings of All Ages you will know more than most Rosicrucians, meditation skills aside.

I, too, am a former member of AMORC, and I completely agree with you.
