Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27666212 after that total bshit For the USA, the late 1970's was a time of inflation, huge interest rates, and fear. As a teenager, I had a fatalistic attitude due primarily to the impending nuclear exchange with the USSR. Things always look better the further away they are. ;-`) We all breathe the same air. .-.. --- ...- . / .- .-.. .-.. |

Not the microfiche ones, the real deal. They go back to the 1920s. The late 70s (I was in grade school) seem to stretch on forever. After that, it is like time sped up. 2013 already... Reading the paper, which stresses local events, things weren't so dandy. Robberies and fatal car accidents were more common then. It was a more innocent time here as we were still a small city and not a sprawling 100,000+ burb as we are today. As for the USA, I feel there was more of a sense of community then, and not our current situation with every special interest group competing for a piece of the pie. |

People are forgetting the Vietnam War, Iran Hostage Crises, and the '73 Oil Crisis. Not to mention Carter was President. I never thought the American people would elect a worse President than that. However, we certainly have. We have forgotten our history and we are repeating it. edit: I'm not from Canada (GLP glitch) so don't go there. |

Most drugs were legal, we had a good attitude about the future, sex was available(to some), and we were moving forward into a better world. Too bad I didn't know then what I know now, so I could have fully taken advantage of that time of freedom. |
