Chest Wall Inflamation
Anyone on here ever been diagnosed with chest wall inflamation? How did you treat it? What was the pain like? What caused it? etc.

You really need an antibiotic like doxycycline. Now if you'd already stocked yours, you'd be ready.

You need to see a doctor for Rx if you don't have some.

Does it hurt to take a deep breath?

Try mixing baking soda with castor oil into a
paste;saturate a cotton cloth with it, apply to affected region of thorax with a plastic bag over it, a heating pad with medium heat and a dry towel over that for 30-40 min. several times/day until relief. Rule out Pneumonia, pleuricy, and shingles. Blood in sputum??

Re: Chest Wall Inflamation
Could be costochondritis. I'm working with my doctor to find a way to end the pain. There are not many doctors who specialize in rib pain. My x-rays came up negative for actual rib damage. I need to get an MRI.

I feel like I constantly have bruised ribs for the last five years. I'm sure it's some type of inflammation. GLP email me and I'll let you know the results in the future.

I'm going to get to the bottom of it after the holidays. It's killing me and I don't sleep well. It's either pain medication or alcohol to deaden the pain. Horrific at times.

The cause of mine was a work out injury.

OK will try this - I have had blood in my sputum. How does a docc rule out pneumonia, pleuricy, and shingles. I've had this off and on for 7 months and have taken a few rounds of antibiotics.

Sorry for your pain - sigh. It does feel like mine is inflamation, too. I don't sleep well either. Thanks for the invite not sure I can email you if I'm not a GLP member?? Are you seeing a specialist? My chest Xrays come up clear. Can an MRI show inflamation?

Re: Chest Wall Inflamation
You need a sputum sample test for bacteria, a Chest X-ray and perhaps an MRI plus a spirometry exam. Also a CBC, Comprehesive panel with a C-reactive protein to mark the inflammation.

Alkalize your system! Say away from all saturated fats and hydrogenated oils in food. Nothing fried. Use only fish and fowel for protein (the average 6FT male needs only 5 grams/day). Keep your diet light; just enough to stave off hunger. This will allow your system to re-establish it's normal buffering system b/w the extra-cellular tissues, lungs and lymphatics. Green leafy vegetables and fruit and fruit juices for energy. REST! Avoid exersion to the thorax and diaphram. Treat the chest wall externally with the pack i mentioned earlier but also apply to the chest. Apply a rib belt to the thorax if breathing is painful. Cough up any old mucus; the older it is the darker it will be (do not swollow it). Massive doses of vitamin C also help (6000 mg +/day). And say your prayers! (Prayer has been scientifically validated to speed healing; there is little aurguement that the mind on all levels work with the physical).
