I prefer to think of this challenge as "incentive". Lots of people are kind at heart but in such a busy world, it gets lost in the busyness and we say "I'll help my neighbor out later when I have more time and then we sometimes forget, that's all. I guess I'm hoping this will be kind of a memory jogger. :-) |

I believe in the Golden Rule do unto others as you'd have them do to you. altho, it does get harder with the years. forgiving and forgetting the betrayals by the very people you helped or loved or prayed for. those are the hardest. I am currently praying for each one of them every day this season. as much to help my aching heart as them. I have stickers with gold smiley faces I put on pennies. sometimes I just throw a handful out on the street for people to find. give them out with tips, etc. give flowers every chance I can. sometimes= every once and a while- my children and I go where the homeless camp and take them cookies. you cannot outgive God. the only thing we take with us is the love we give. |

I think half of your idea is good (consciously choosing to be kind and do a good deed you might not otherwise do) but the other half (the 'reporting' of it) is somewhat silly. How easy it is for us to get lost in our own problems (most of them of our own making) and forget how much a random act of kindness can mean to someone. |
