Anonymous Coward User ID: 22965942 United States 12/26/2012 02:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You are not alone. I know of several that have not worked since 2009. They worked hard and tried to get ahead. So many applications for a job was absolutely a dead-end. Hard to compete in a labor force when the competition is given a subsidy to displace you. Anyhow they managed to find a place outside the system and are doing meaningful work but the compensation is sorely lacking. |

That's not fair. Those places won't hire just anyone, contrary to popular belief. Like hell they wont hire you. They would be grateful for a hard working 53 year old. Compared to a foolish 16 year old. I bet I could start applying today and have 3 job offers before Friday. They may be jobs that dont pay well, but it would be a job. 15K a year is better than 0K a year. every time I looked for job, I found one Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2619774 maybe it was not what I wanted to do , but it payed my bills there are jobs in this economy, you just need to look if you dont look, you never gonna find one consider changing career and dont be picky 4 yrs out of work is pathetic, lazy good luck :this^^^: Forgotten: Reach me at [email protected] |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 27531391 United States 12/26/2012 04:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | get a job driving a truck you'll make between 36-40000k a year which is chicken feed but it pays the mortgage, food. call central refrigerated and talk to a recruiter they are always looking for drivers and they will train you, get you your CDL and you pay back the cost of tuition at 25 bucks a week. its a lonely job but you see a lot of the country Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23748411 No, the economy is tanking and goods are going to be more difficult to transport with gas prices soaring. You'll be scratching and clawing to survive as a trucker. Better to just sell everything and buy land and prepare for the breakdown of the modern society because it's coming fast. |

Enough to cover most, if not all, of your mortgage. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1506438 You are a drain to our society. There are jobs. I moved to a new town and had 3 job offers within 30 days. Face it, you purposefully did not look or try to get a job at... McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Call center work, Janitor, etc. You would of been hired by now. You have no one to blame but yourself. I sure would like to know where you can find a mortgage like that! And by the way my son has done all those places They are NOT hiring period.Just be glad you are working |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 19490298 United States 12/26/2012 04:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | @Poker Face: The R.V. thing is exactly what we have been considering, if we do lose our home to B.O.A. then at least the R.V. would offer some reasonable shelter. After hurricane charlie here in Florida we lived in one for 3 months, wasn't that bad but sure wasn't like the home we had, Thanks for your comments! Quoting: Warrior 53 And thanks to all for the positive feedback! I'm sure you've been thinking about every possible alternative. The cool thing about the R.V. deal is you can find a camp ground that charges about $300.00 a month to park it. Lot rent would cover everything, from water, sewer, electricity to internet. A minimum wage job could actually support you. Unless you have medical issues of course. Hernando County has more campgrounds than you shake a stick at and are reasonable in price. I really hope things work out for you! |

Secondly, my 18 year old daughter got a job within 2 weeks of looking. This was just 6 months ago (At McDonalds). Then she moved to go to college. Had a job within a week of moving again (pizza hut). This was less then 30 days ago. They are hiring. Your son must interview like shit. Edit: My mortgage is 970 dollars a month. With my real estate taxes included. However, I have managed my credit score for some time in order to get a super low rate. And houses in my state are not 500K for 800 square feet. 2100 Sq feet house for 123K.
