This is the activity of two spots in question for the past couple of days. Pretty! LOL - Heating up!

Our sunspot now showing moderate growth. Background X-ray levels are still in the C range indicating high levels of activity. Should flare in the near future.

Has anything happened yet? Seems to have gone rather quiet. The Xray ratio seems to creep down in the lower C levels.

Still creeping the lower C range but no active flaring yet.

This was alot less active of a topic that I thought it would be from the get go lol.

My best guess here: 2-3 days for full geoeffectiveness, but I might be wrong.

They are Earth facing now. Technically they are not squarely Earth facing but any sunspot that is visible from Earth has the potential to be geoeffective if it erupts. In other words, if we can detect it on the X-ray flux on GOES, it is geoeffective.

I think we already got into one argument about this subject earlier in the thread lol. Yes, currently geo-effective. I did mean squarely Earth facing though as these have been geo-effective since nearly the discovery of the spot.

Maybe they switched to an image from 1899? LOL
