Heard quite a few WV jokes though, which is why it's ironic that I'd like to move there now HAHA Born in WV & live in Pittsburgh, go figure. Having worked there in the late 90's and early 2000's the best thing about WV was seeing it my rear view mirror. McDowell county was a shit hole. Welch? FUCK! Well Hell yea, southern WV is a hell hole I have a friend who lives in southern WV, she says there are really bad drug issues down there. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 31705964 United States 01/13/2013 11:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I left home (Pittsburgh) approx 5 years ago. I won't go back. In WV now. My fam is still there. Mother visits every now and then and brings me Gyros (WV wouldn't know what a Gyro is if you smacked them in the face with one). Gyros are about the only thing I miss about Pittsburgh now. I used to miss Primanti's sammiches, but I learned to make my own. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 31705964 Century III mall had been dead for over a decade. When I still lived there it was basically old people using it for their daily walking routines. I still love my Steelers (apparently WV does as well). Oh and worst of all...They ruined Kennywood when they sold it to a corporation. Proof...The Old Mill is now Garfield's Nightmare. A visit now and then isn't too bad, but I'll never live back home again. Where in WV do you live? Actually if I moved back I wouldn't want to live in Pittsburgh, but rather close on WV side and own a bit of property. Pipe dream now though... I'm in Central WV :) |

Pipe dream now though... i have cousins in parkersburg WV That could be something for you to think about? I'll tell you, if things were to happen..I don't think PA would err on the side of freedom. We briefly looked into the Clarksburg area, or possibly Morgantown...if we would ever move, I'd want it to be there. I wouldn't live in Morgantown if you paid me. It's a mini Pittsburgh and in a few years it will be just as bad. Same goes for Clarksburg...I wouldn't live there if you paid me. Even for WV, which is beautiful, those are both high density population areas...same goes for Parkersburg. |

The west is strange like that. All the wide open spaces, you think it would be cheap to live, but it's not. Maybe cause it's too dry. And/or the government owns so much. If you own property you can walk on it but you don't even have water rights on it. In the east you own everything below it, above it, etc. C'mon back to civilization, you've spent too long in the outer provinces. |

KoFFee_ User ID: 1373078 United States 01/27/2013 02:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hello Salt, My son asked me Friday evening if anyone on GLP has mentioned anything about Pittsburgh. I took a look and found your thread. I thought about contacting you and asking about good places to eat in the area, but it was too late. We ended up leaving Michigan the next morning at 6:30 am. Our destination was Pittsburgh. It was pretty cold, but we walked around downtown and marveled at all the amazing colors and beautiful architecture in the city. Many bridges and hills with homes, businesses, churches and all types of buildings nestled anywhere. Some type of event must've been going on, because at one point in the day, many people were seen walking around the convention center, coming and going. Unfortunately, we didn't get to eat there. We did buy some of the most amazing chocolate, peanut butter popcorn from a hole in the wall place called, "Pittsburgh Popcorn". I'm munching on some now and hiding the rest. Anyways, if I'm able, I'll try to post a few pics I took while there. Plans for another trip there might be happening soon. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24 "This man really is the Savior of the world!" John 4:42 Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen. I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:7 |

indiandave User ID: 27213312 United States 09/19/2013 09:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hey Salt, could you go there for a visit? Maybe stay with family or friends for a week or two. That way you can see first hand how things are there. I'm from the eastern part of the state(Pike County), but I have lots of relatives in Western PA. They seem to like it there! |
