While at CVS...pick up one of their large boxes of epsom salt, find some lavender or peppermint essential oil and soak!!! This helps draw out toxins and replenish some of the electrolytes in your depleted immune system :)

I understand that tamiflu is expensive, and only shortens the flu by one or two days.

A major active ingredient in Tamiflu is Star Anise Seed. If you can find Star Anise Seed Tea, drink that.

We forget that all synthetic medicine came from natural plants. Researchers studied natural plants' medicinal properties; isolated them, then using chemistry, sysnthesized them and put them in pills.

Where's the sense in that when you can just use the plant nature provided for you, without the artificial chemicals and their side effects? Oh...because plants can't be patented and don't make money; pills do.

Lol if you try everyone's 'remedy' at once you'll probally die. Drink lots of fluids and eat when you can, that's it.

No problem! I'm a bath salt "pusher" :) but for the healthy ones! I take a few of them a week to keep my immune system up...I soak in epsom salt, sea salt, and baking soda (like a little bath soup!) It really will help your system in ways I didn't believe until I tried!

Put a pot of water on the stove with a spoonful of Vick Vaporub in it and boil and inhale the steam. This helps soooooooo much!

I found Oil of Oregano at my local Rite Aid.

I really don't trust that Vicks...I had a aunt die in her 40's of throat cancer and she put that vicks on her EVERYWHERE for years...

just make sure its okay for internal consumption! Some oils have all kinds of chemicals in them because of the chemicals used to treat/grow the plants!

Right! I just bought this cool mist crane humidifier (no filter) and added essential oils. OMG. No lie, it has been awesome!

I didn't realize essential oils were more therapeutic with cool mist than heating them. I didn't think the oils would emit as well. Wrong! Several drops in a 1 gallon and OMG. Fantastic!

Vitamin D3.....technically not a vitamin.....but is actually a hormone that your body produces after sun exposure during the summer. Most people go deficient during non-summer months.

During the summer, 20 minutes of time in the Noon sun with a swimsuit on (no sunscreen) will produce about 20,000 IUs.

The IU for Vitamin D3 is a very small unit of measurement. Do not get scared by the high numbers.

The therapeutic blood level for D3 is 40--70ng/mL.


Maintenance Dose......1,000 IUs per 33 pounds of body wt.


Many people during winter drop to around 15 on their blood level. It will take several months to get it back into the normal range on a maintenance dose. So you can use higher doses for awhile. And when you are sick, would advise approx. 5,000 IUs every few hours for about three days.....then move toward maintenance.
