Silver has never been suppressed as an anti-microbial or antiseptic.
It's not an antibiotic nor an anti-viral medication though.
it DOES work topically.
It DOESN'T work systemically.

Silver's been used for years on bandages, plasters and even urinary catheters as a way of fighting infection. Only topically though..
