Hey Patrick, MBP is a great machine you won't regret it.  As for apps, something like Appzapper is useful for uninstalling apps, Istat menus is very cool also for monitoring your cpu and stuff, check Toast for the latest version for disc-burning and Transmission if you do torrents. That's for starters, lots of stuff out there. Awesome man, thanks! I definitely will check those out! My pleasure, don't forget Neo-Office for word, excel, etc. it's even free and i have no complains, microsoft programs are a bit unstable for me on macs, maybe only me dunno.
