shadow demon/sleep paralysis?

Bump

It's been a couple of years since my sleep paralysis was really bad, but during those times I would experience it over and over again, a hundred or more times a night. I know that sounds exaggerated, but it's not. It would always happen as I was falling asleep, and at its onset I would always think like something like, "This is it....I'm not going to snap out of this one..", and when I would finally snap out of it, I'd fall right back into it and think the same thing.

i saw the hatman standing in my door way when i was around 6 years old...

a hooded black void of a creature was standing next to my bed with its arm stretched out to me when i had sleep paralysis a few years ago.. its the only time ive experienced it and would never want to feel that intense hopelessness again

when your sleep centre goes haywire it's hell.why it's an old torture technique i guess.

I've been experiencing this for a few weeks now. Also black outs just as im dozing off. Like my whole system shuts down and everything is black. Scary ass shit.

I haven't seen any shadowy figures lately during sleep paralysis, but just the other night, I remember that I sensed something that I can only describe as evil. I remember trying to make a serious face, so that this evil would know that I wasn't fucking around. When I finally snapped out of it...I remember unintentionally waking up my cat by laughing out loud, and the look my cat gave me was hilarious.

Besides, you don't get strange scars (puncture wounds and scoop marks) from dreams, now do you?
It happened to me 2 years ago and I still don't have an explanation for it.

I, too, have woken up with unexplained bruises. I truly do not understand what goes on sometimes with it.

It's completely demonic. Until I got serious about Jesus and cleaning up my life sleep paralysis would haunt me. Once I learned about spiritual warfare and the power in His name I started to rebuke it in the name of Jesus Christ while awake, half awake/half asleep and even while in dream state and I have not had any problems since. Evil entities flee from Him!! Helped strengthen my walk with God.

The name of Jesus is the only thing that would cause "it" to flee. The latest incident was this "thing" taunting me and telling me that "God didn't write the Bible, you know..." And all night was whisperings in my ear.

I'm telling you, I'm a lifelong Christian with a clean living record. These things are real and they'll taunt you. All weekend I've been questioning why they're allowed to bother me at all. The only thing that I can make of it is that they appear right on the cusp of a blessing. Like they know that something good is on the way, and they do their darndest to make sure that the blessing doesn't happen.

It's 100% true. I was never a believer until it started happening to me a few years back.

it'so amazing that so many people have had this experience...I too have seen the shadow man in what i will call a vision for a lack of a better way to describe ity.I was half awake half asleep but it seemed soo real.....something compelled me to look it up online and I find I was not the only one and now reading about it here too is just amazing

u guys are seriously demented. if the hat man was actually a real thing u are saying the hat man knows when you are experiencing sleep paralysis... he knows when u are sleeping... he knows when u are awake.... (SANTA.. is that you?) or there are millions of hat men working around the clock every single day to scare u when u are experiencing sleep paralysis... god damn guys its time u grow a brain ok? oh u obviously already have one u cant dream without a brain, its time to upgrade your brains then.

when you are dreaming, and u experience fear... u are thinking about it... in a dream, thoughts are reality ok? when u think about something, IT WILL HAPPEN. because u are in a dream. if u truly stop being scared, IT WILL GO AWAY. if u ask jesus to help u, your brain goes.. oh he/she wants it to go away, well.. ur the boss!!!

and before u say u are not dreaming when in SP

it has been scientifically proven that u experience SP every single night, its the bodies way of making sure u dont act out your dream... it only happens when a dream is taking place. u dream every single night so u experience SP every single night. but u can become aware while experiencing SP... which has also been 100% scientifically proven with Lucid Dreaming. under proper conditions with monitors all hooked up.


as for the people that say they see the demons while up and moving about.. its called False Awakenings and Lucid Dreams.

by the way, it sounds like u are in denial that Christianity is a lie. your subconscious knows everything about u, it will tell u about your mind and life and thoughts through dreams.

Chris, I'm going to have to ask you to take a seat please. Change the record. People have ~5 pages of your replies all saying the same thing.

The under lying problem with your theory is that regardless of culture or tradition, the archetypes of the characters are the same, worldwide. I have replied this to you before and your answer was that you didn't know either.

That is the freaky part about all this. Hatman, Shadow People and the Hag in particular pop up all over the world. Why would the brain create those same images to choke you?

There's no need to be nasty to anyone. Even if you feel that they are 'demented'. What if they are 'demented'? What if they're younger memebers? Or less priviledged members?

There are a lot of people here with creepy stories and it'd be great if we could work it out in a positive atmosphere.

I'm of the thinking that these entities during sleep paralysis and ufo abductions are both demonic. There is a lot of info out there that will claim the name of Jesus Christ can break these "spells". Do any of you that are affected by this dabble in the occult or New Age or anything Christians would find odd like that?

You have to realize that Chris hates God and Jesus Christ. It's just as simple as that.

This! After my kundalini experience at 20 I delved deeper into the truth and the watcher came. It can have many forms, different genders, and attack in many different ways. I've been attacked once a week for 5 years and only recently have I begun to not fear it. It's like a friend who plays a trick on me now and forces my body to feel "fear" but I now lay there understanding and watching.

It came again this morning and I decided to see how well I could fight paralysis this time. I actually was able to slowly, but difficultly rise out of the bed and put my arm through its image. That's a first haha

when people see the hat man it is usually different looking for everyone. that tells me its just a dream from that alone. and when there is scientific proof that u are dreaming while in SP u must be very ignorant to think its real.

and the fact that u can make things appear just by thinking about it while in this state is proof it is just a dream. the scary shadows and figures do not appear when u are not scared.

You're wrong about the hat man looking different; people just have different ways of describing their memories. He/it is always the same. I've only seen it once in my 5 years of encountering these "watchers".

no interest in newage stuff.i'm very interested in quantum worlds,science etc.but i believe the two tie in together,i'm open to every possible answer i know,plus any i may not know yet.i believe the mind is the Holy Grail.it's way beyond my ken,but i keep trying to look further.

I have a friend who says he occasionally has bouts of sleep paralysis. He says that the "shadowy figure" he saw, did a somersault across the bedroom floor and jumped out the window.

so why do people see so many different things? this is proof its just a dream. you can change what you see... some people see the girl from the ring... some people have seen celebrities that are actually alive...

Yet the hatman always looks the same.

Fun fact: since seeing the shadow people a few weeks ago and posting in this thread, I have been hospitalised twice with stroke like symptoms. Yet my brain, heart and body in general are healthy. The doctors are stumped. I heard these visits were like omens. I'm starting to find truth in that :S

the Hat man....A whole website deticated to the hatman. It sounds like they want stories about the hatman. Weird.

so are you saying there are billions of hat men watching every single person sleep all over the world? or just 1 hat man that knows when everyone is asleep? if its just 1 then ALL hat men would look exactly the same.. people say he is tall people say he has red eyes people say he has black eyes its all just a dream, its either what every brain associates with fear (since it only appears when u are scared) or every person that has experienced it has heard of it before. which explains why they all look different. (even if they dont remember it, once u see/hear/learn something its in your memory forever.

also, people that purposely induce sleep paralysis if they are not scared they NEVER see scary hallucinations. (usually for Astral Projection / Lucid Dreams)

I have this. It's thought to be a form of narcolepsy by many neurologists. The hallucinations occur because part of your brain is still dreaming. Although I very rarely have had visual hallucinations I always have audio. Sounds like someone screaming, whispering , growling, etc.

I can't move and it feels like I can't breath. Inside I'm screaming and kicking trying to move. I either fight it and win or fall bal asleep...which honestly feels like dying. It can happen to me several times a night, sometimes 4-5x in a row.

I once had it occur while lying on the couch taking a nap ,my eyes would open but I couldn't move. My dad was in the room staring at me having a conversation with me puzzled by why I wasn't responding. I literally couldn't!! I was paralyzed.

This has been documented for CENTURIES. It was once believed to be a demon called an "old hag" that would sit on your chest and crush you. Which is odd becuse before I ever researched this I once had an audio hallucination dream where an old woman was standing next to my bed yelling at me. It was terrifying.

Google "old hag" youll find the mythology behind it.
