Helmet Inspired by Woodpecker May Revolutionize Bike Safety

Biking might just have become significantly safer, thanks to a new high-tech helmet made from, of all things, cardboard. According to gizmag.com, the core of the new Kranium bicycle helmet is comprised of a "honeycomb cardboard structure dubbed 'Dual Density Honey Comb Board,' or D2," which allows a greater degree of flexibility in the helmet, enabling it to absorb 3 times as much force as the average expanded polystyrene helmets which most cyclists use today.
