I worked as a waitress for far too long... and I was pretty good with the whole customer service show (always awarded with teamwork or cooperation certificates). Let me tell you, if you're a good server, you know what I mean when I say it is a non-stop, running on your feet for 10 hours straight(if you work doubles like I did), pretty smile on your face at all times, yes maam/sir, please & thank you job. I put in an average of 60-70 hours per week (double shifts and almost ALWAYS opened/closed). And this is true, most black people don't tip. But it's not the fact that they don't tip that is the real issue. I worked with a couple of black servers and every time we saw a group of blacks come through the door we would rock paper scissors :) So black servers are aware of the REAL problem as well... most black tables make you run around like a chicken with your head cut off the WHOLE time they're at the table, have no manners whatsoever, and THEN leave no tip... you can give them the BEST service ever and they will still complain and leave you with nothing to show for it! And for those of you who don't understand why the tips are such a big deal- the majority of servers WORK FOR TIPS... that means they make between $1.70-$2.15 per hour so they RELY on those tips to make ends meet... NOT ONLY do servers make such low hourly wages, MOST HAVE TO DECLARE THEIR TIPS- THOSE TIPS ARE TAXED! There are some black folks (usually well educated) that will be polite and tip well, but they are rare. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of white folks who don't tip either.. usually trailer park trash/rednecks, cops, and wealthy folks (that is why they are wealthy, of course- - they don't give away their money). When I go out to eat, I tip based on the service. Poor service gets 15% or less, good to excellent service gets 25%-100% :)

the fact that some feel the need to go to church and give 10% and keep going back weekly but go out to eat a couple of times a month and don't give at least 15-18% bothers me. Why?

just watch some joel osteen, save that 10% to the side for a rainy day and then maybe you might appreciate people who actually work for something

When I was in college I waited tables and got sick of no tips from the Blacks. We all got together and would tell the kitchen it was a "special" order meaning blacks. Knowing we were going to get stiffed, we made sure they got the poor cuts of meat and were slighted on the portions, as well as other tricks known to the kitchen.
To this day I always tip a black about half of what I do whites, they brought it on themselves.

South side Chicago Blacks don't tip. They act like princesses and queens and , fuck, are they loud. just...just a nasty people.
