Feds at Shootings.. Coincidence or not?

Is it just me, or do federal agents always show up at these school shootings? Can local police enforcement not handle the situation. Do they even have jurisdiction on these types of crimes.. I just find it highly convenient that the Feds always show up to "assist" in these crimes. People get shot/stabbed/killed everyday, I don't see them showing up for those crimes. Just these mass shooting incidents
