I appreciate your point. You put it nicely and with some understanding of the pressures these women faced.
But the reality is would a extra 54 million people growing up supported by welfare, and therefore incredibly limited choices in their future lifes help anyone?
If god creates life and your " path " - clearly he realised the end effects and there was a reason for it.
Just makes me laugh that the religious find he has his " mysterious ways " for an excuse of why he allows children to be raped, wars to pillage, etc etc - yet apparently he totally had no Idea that the women would need to end these pregnancies. Maybe there was lessons, strength, the ability to put another above their own selfish needs to be learnt here?
Personally it has been going on since time began - the only difference is now it is done without harm to the woman.
Bottom line is - the world would NOT be able to support the exta 54 million and all they bred from there when the women accepted they could not support the child to the means it deserved.
Any child from a welfare mother will NEVER have all it deserves in life, or the opportunities others do. Harsh reality most want to ignore - but the bottom line truth.
I think these women were the stronger, less selfish of those placed in this position - and just MAYBE so does this God!

If people would carefully manage the time they choose to make love, then we wouldn't have 54.5 million deaths. Maybe we can't eliminate it, but could we lower the amount each year, and so less and less abortions happen.
Could we also with equal force help each woman to safely have good nutrition, health care, a tender considerate husband, good mental care, strong job skills so they may have a better life, more home ownership, a deep spiritual relationship, clean water, etc?
A lot of pro-life people are only focuses on abortion. That's a mistake. The real compassion is found in commitment to caring for all human beings and other species so we can make the Earth a Paradise.
A lot of pro-choice people are too focuses on choice and not responsibility. Again read the paragraph above. It's about commitment not choice.
