Aren't Sheriffs still able to deputize citizens in time of need? I say d they should deputize every able bodied citizen in every county, and then they'll also legally have the right to uphold the constitution with whatever force or means the Sheriff's Department authorizes them with. Now there's a thought!

We already do have the right to uphold the Constitution, skippy. Its just too much trouble for most of us to be bothered with. Our rights don't come from Congress or some Sheriff. They come from elsewhere, outside of their jurisdiction.

Yeah, but the Sheriff could authorize you as a deputy sheriff to legally use a fully automatic weapon, armored vehicle, etc. You would be immune from prosecution as a deputized sheriff.

"Gun Owners of America Executive Director Larry Pratt shares Mack’s opinion.

“The county sheriffs need to act and make new deputies to stop federal authority in the counties,” Pratt told WND. “This is a defensible idea. He can deputize people to serve since they are the ones who voted for him to represent them. A lot of citizens would stand up for their Second Amendment rights if they were protected by the sheriff.”

He cited a move that already is surging among states to adopt laws and use the Tenth Amendment to curb federal activity. The Tenth Amendment simply reserves to the states and the people all responsibilities not specifically assigned to Washington in the Constitution."

I'm in. I say deputize everyone!5a

I didn't see meds mentioned, that might be a dividing line until the side effects wear off. One shooter and two packing the ammo. Just sayin .....

I don't need a Barney Fife badge to protect my RIGHTS,
but I appreciate the sentiment.
The federales will meet overwhelming armed resistance
from a well armed citizenry, should they attempt gun
confiscation,
so niceties like badges and signed pieces of paper
will quickly become irrelevant, when the bullets start
to fly, and the blood begins to pour.
