Report Copyright Violation | Pandemic infuenza epidemic is declared in Lithuania By the end of January influenza epidemic was declared in one third of Lithuanian regions. Schools are closed. [ link to www.alfa.lt] Influenza reaches epidemic levels in all country and reaches 170 infected out of 10000. There are 5 casualties. [ link to www.alfa.lt] Medics warn the infected to stay at home for 2 initial days as any travel during that time, even to the doctor can cause serious complications. Going outside is dangerous for both patient and everyone else. It is advised to watch over health during that period, if it does not improve, or gets worse, to call ambulance. Numbers of ill are rapidly rising and situation is not normal. It is normal for influenza outbreak during this season as last year there were 61 ill from 10000, but this time situation is different. Numbers exceed 155 out of 10000, mostly kids and elderly people fall ill, illness is usually progressing fast. [ link to www.delfi.lt] |
