Asking for a rain of doom on others is naive at best, it would be much better if it can be gracefully, true peace cannot be forced such a way as it's all about grace. The world likes to force things down the throat, I doubt that I have to name examples as you already mentioned one. Tradition and doctrines are a very explosive mix when combined with pride, and there is no shortage of that I can assure you. All about keeping on the heading of doom as long we are in the perceived safety of a flock than to stand alone and think for yourself with both your heart and brain. Besides, in the end we all die alone, maybe it's better to get our act together in known, while we live, than in the unknown/death.

One would think that looking after the younger generation would be enough reason, no matter what race and class they are, I think that Earth also deserves better after all the rape and wars, the boycott of cannabis is evidence enough, it even became a doctrine that people shouldn't question, even if the National Cancer Institute acknowledges possible anti-tumor effects in cannabis. Imagine that with cancer on the rise, doctrines and pride make deaf, but they'll have to face reality eventually, hopefully the graceful way.
