I was raised in a pentecostal church. It was at it's biggest about 50 people, so not that large. I remember people dancing, laughing, and falling over with "the spirit". In my adult life, I've never felt anything similar except once when I was praying and was overcome with the giggles, I was by myself when it happened. It was quite a joy though.

This is a general question not directed toward you, but where did we as a people get this "slain in the spirit" falling down and acting like a fool?

There isn't a record that I know of in the Bible about that other than having an unclean spirit manifesting.

One should be careful when talking about the gifts of the Holy Spirit to those who have NOT experienced these things. People who are filled, understand this, but those who have never felt the Spirit move on their soul, get scared, think it is evil and many other things. Just know, that if you ever experience the overwhelming filling of the Holy Spirit, you will then understand how some of the "crazy" things happen.

Being slain in the Spirit isn't acting like a fool, rather giving yourself up totally to God. It just looks foolish to those who are not familiar with this experience. I could tell you over and over how it feels, but unless you have experienced this, you will never understand. If you want to experience this oneness with God, then you must pray for full forgiveness and then ask for it. In Jesus' Name you are forgiven and by His comforter you are carried day to day.

BTW, I haven't experienced any of this for decades, though I still have felt the Holy Spirit guide me in day to day life.

God Bless!

Christians take things out of context when regarding the Bible, just like you took what I said out of context.

As yours was a general question, I replied in general hon. That is why I gave a few links. Not as well versed as I should be and why I don't quote the Bible often. Never meant to offend you in any way. Sorry about that.
