Information regarding 1812 New Madrid quake, and reasons to prepare for a 2013 New Madrid quake.
Sink holes, unexplainable "BOOMS", EQ activity in "odd" places, birds falling out of the sky, from what I have been reading it would appear these are all conected to each other. They could all be early indicators of a pending New Madrid quake.

From Wikipedia regarding the 1812 quake:
There are estimates that the earthquakes were felt strongly over roughly 130,000 square kilometers (50,000 sq mi), and moderately across nearly 3 million square kilometers (1 million square miles). The historic 1906 San Francisco earthquake, by comparison, was felt moderately over roughly 16,000 km2 (6,200 sq mi).

The underlying cause of New Madrid earthquakes is not well understood, but modern faulting seems to be related to an ancient geologic feature buried under the Mississippi River alluvial plain, known as the Reelfoot Rift.

BOOMS & Quakes:

Notice the area...

Birds fall from the sky:
SEYMOUR, Tenn. (AP) -- Residents in Seymour were startled after seeing dozens of small birds dropping dead from the sky over the weekend.

As many as an estimated 300 dead birds appeared to be mostly starlings and were reported to police on Sunday afternoon along Boyd Creek Highway.

ABC Arkansas affiliate KATV reported that a radar image showed a large mass over Beebe a few hours before midnight Saturday. Then the birds began falling from the sky, just like last year.

This really only touches the surface, but I'm becoming more and more confident as information piles up that the New Madrid fault line may shake sooner rather than later.

December 25, 1699The first known written record of an earthquake felt in the NMSZ was from a French missionary traveling up the Mississippi with a party of explorers. At 1 PM, on Christmas Day 1699, at a site near the present-day location of Memphis, the party was startled by a short period of ground shaking.[8]

The biggest quake since 1811–1812 was a 6.6-magnitude quake on October 31, 1895, with an epicenter at Charleston, Missouri. The quake damaged virtually all buildings in Charleston, creating sand volcanoes by the city, cracked a pier on the Cairo Rail Bridge and toppled chimneys in St. Louis, Missouri, Memphis, Tennessee, Gadsden, Alabama and Evansville, Indiana.[15]

The next biggest quake was a 5.4-magnitude quake (although it was reported as a 5.5 at the time) on November 9, 1968,

1699, 1812, 1895, 1968,...based on these dates (and previously noted "clues") it would seem a quake of notable size is about due as the frequesncy had been increasing over time, and it has been 45 years since the last "big one".

Potential for future earthquakes
In a report filed in November 2008, The U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency warned that a serious earthquake in the New Madrid Seismic Zone could result in "the highest economic losses due to a natural disaster in the United States," further predicting "widespread and catastrophic" damage across Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, and particularly Tennessee, where a 7.7 magnitude quake or greater would cause damage to tens of thousands of structures affecting water distribution, transportation systems, and other vital infrastructure.[22] The earthquake is expected to also result in many thousands of fatalities, with more than 4,000 of the fatalities expected in Memphis alone.

The potential for the recurrence of large earthquakes and their impact today on densely populated cities in and around the seismic zone has generated much research devoted to understanding in the New Madrid Seismic Zone. By studying evidence of past quakes and closely monitoring ground motion and current earthquake activity, scientists attempt to understand their causes and recurrence intervals.

In October 2009, a team composed of University of Illinois and Virginia Tech researchers headed by Amr S. Elnashai, funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), considered a scenario where all three segments of the New Madrid fault ruptured simultaneously. The report found that there would be significant damage in the eight states studied – Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee – with the probability of additional damage in states farther from the NMSZ. Tennessee, Arkansas, and Missouri would be most severely impacted, and the cities of Memphis, Tennessee and St. Louis, Missouri would be severely damaged. The report estimated 86,000 casualties, including 3,500 fatalities; 715,000 damaged buildings; and 7.2 million people displaced, with 2 million of those seeking shelter, primarily due to the lack of utility services. Direct economic losses, according to the report, would be at least $300 billion.

No kidding. Possibly thousands dead. Multiple billions in damage. We'd have a tough time trying to bounce back in Obama's America.

it would be tens of thousands, likely more. don't forget all the stuff tied in with the new madrid, like the network of natural gas pipelines for one thing. alos the sinkhole and everything south of it. it'd be beyond catastrophic.

No doubt it would dwarf any other disaster to date. The thing is, it's only a matter of time. It is a ticking time bomb and it will have to shake at some point.

Edgar Caycee's foresight lends a map to visualize the results of such a quake, imo. Such a quake could change over the entire continent and possibly worldwide. Worries me being near the east coast about sea level rises and tsunamis as a result of the new madrid blossoming.

Spot on. Watch the Earthquake swarms. When the intensity rises on sustains itself in the high 2' and with more 3's then really watch. Remember swarms are the precursor to this. Count the Earthquakes in the area everyday. When you see them getting close to double go on Vacation.
