does anyone else think the moon looks odd? it's crescent shape and sitting over bayou corne, so bright and close. like i could reach out and touch it

NAPOLEONVILLE — Assumption Parish Police Jury President Martin “Marty” Triche exchanged sharp words Wednesday night during a community meeting on the parish’s 8.6-acre sinkhole with a resident who asked whether Triche had any personal financial interests in dirt-hauling related to the response effort.

The episode, which led to the resident’s removal by a sheriff’s deputy at Triche’s direction but Triche’s later apology for the outburst, occurred about 11 minutes into the meeting before about 150 people. The session also revealed several new details on the sinkhole and the multi-level response to its effects. . . .

In reading the link provided, I see that Texas Brine is associated with Occidental Petroleum. Can't understand it completely - is Occidental the principal corporation?
If so, whoaa...... Occidental Petroleum. Occidental Chemical. Love Canal.

I was under the impression it was golden gate petroleum (which has a project at lake fausse point (lake flase point in english) used to be sady lake/cove until a levee road was built through it. I'll look into info

You are correct. Do a quick google search for Occidential Petroleum and you can find out a lot of info. And, Hooker Chemical was the one dumping toxic materials into Love Canal.
So.......if they did it once, they'll do it again. God only knows what is really down in those caverns.

This is a helicorder near Bayou Corne LA, you know, the sinkhole thing from last year.

Currently, they are running seismic imaging operations. This is what you are seeing.

During the public briefing, the questions that were being asked (illustrating the concerns of the residence) were how much will these operations disturb the termites or if there would be an affect on the foundations.

Although not definitive, it seems the working theory is this: Texas Brine milled out a section around 2350 ft. right on a major fault section closest to the casing, not considering they had very little salt to work with there. The salt is either washed away and damaging the shale formations close to the fault line, or overpumped freshwater in the millout to have accomplished the same thing."

Earlier today, there was a slough in at the sinkhole. An estimated 50 x 100 foot section sloughed in on the southwest side of the sinkhole. The slough in does not affect Hwy 70 as the event occurred on the opposite side of the sinkhole.

I like how they use words like "slough" to make the issue seem lighter than it really is. Today's slough was 5,000sqft...that's larger than my house. Imagine if this was your backyard. You would want answers if the land is sloughing off in chunks bigger than houses.
