BREAKING: USPS to Stop Delivering Mail on Saturdays

POSTAL SERVICE TO CUT SATURDAY MAIL TO TRIM COSTS

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. Postal Service will stop delivering mail on Saturdays but continue to deliver packages six days a week under a plan aimed at saving about $2 billion, the financially struggling agency says.

In an announcement scheduled for later Wednesday, the service is expected to say the Saturday mail cutback would begin in August.

I always it was interesting that usps DID deliver on Saturdays. It is the weekend, take a break!

As an American living in Canada, I have had to adjust to stores actually closing on holidays and daily shortened shopping hours.

I'm not surprised by this news at all.

I do however think it is insane the USPS has sponsored athletes while at the same time they continue to raise the cost of postage.

They gave Lance Armstrong at least $30 million.

If anyone still pays bills via check this will give your creditors even more of a chance to hit you with late fees.

They could have been skipping days anyway. Now Saturdays. 99% of what I get in the mail is crap. No big deal.

Newspapers, magazines will have to adjust publishing, distribution as USPS plans to end Saturday delivery

just one less day per week that i'll be disappointed.

I didn't like it anyway. If you're gone for the weekend, I don't like leaving the mail sitting in the box.

The problem i see is ,they all take monday off for federal hoildays ,so every federal hoilday in the year ,that will mean 3 days no mail ,I think it been better to of had thursday are tuesday as the day off

Maybe there is hope, they're going to keep the 7th day Sabbath!

The real reason for skipping Saturday is because our new owners take off Saturdays.
