Re: California Manhunt
Dormer seemed to come to the defense of anyone he witnessed suffering an injustice or being bullied. From what I've read of him he would not tolerate the corruption , injustice and cruelty he witnessed. He's now fighting fire with fire. I guess he saw no other options available to him. I for one applaud him. For every person whose defense and assistance he came to .His actions just may be the catalyst needed to bring about the changes need no matter how unpalatable they may seem to some. What he was looking at was just as unpalatable.

[link to hiphopandpolitics.wordpress.com]

Based upon that Manifesto we should be asking why Dorner was said to be lying on his supervising officer Sgt Teresa Evans when legal documents show that the victim, Christopher Gettler and his father gave similar accounts as Dorner? Was it true that there were conflicts of interests during his BOR (Board of Rights) Hearings in terms of the Sgt Evans being close friends and former partners to BOR members who voted to terminate Dorner? Was it true Sgt Evans has a history of violence? Did she really brutalize an elderly woman as pointed out in the manifesto? Why would we not check out this information?

Answering such questions is not to somehow vindicate or give Dorner a pass for any wrong doings especially if he murdered several people. Its to make sure folks who receive our hard-earned tax dollars are conducting themselves in a fair, just and uncorrupted way.

Was it true that academy recruits were singing Nazi songs to a fellow recruit Abraham Schefres and Dorner stood up for him? Are these recruits now officers working the streets of LA? If so how is that? why is that? Should we not check this out?

For many of us, hearing that these two men are officers is beyond disturbing especially when you consider the tens of millions LAPD has had to shell out in police brutality settlements that were rooted in racially charged incidents, one would think there would be zero tolerance to this..This story should be checked out.. Questions should be answered about how they feel and how they behave..

Police man’s Bill Of Rights

Now before folks start drawing conclusions, you should know something about California law and why these incidents are important. Police officers in California have what is known as the Police Man’s bill of Rights. many of us who worked on or followed the Oscar Grant case found out the hard way how this law totally insulates police officers. The public has no access to their files even during a trial.. Yes you read the right. The public access to these personnel files so we have no idea what sort of checkered past an officer has.

Whose deciding whose guilty and whose innocent?

Who decided the on the innocence or guilt of the women shot delivering newspapers.? One of them was 71 years old.
You can't have people in power running around with guns behaving corruptly operating with impunity. Which seems to be an ever growing problem. Dorner saw those in charge of keeping things in check refusing to step up to the plate and make sure people weren't being robbed of their rights and dignity so he did. If just one officer thinks twice before killing, beating someone or saying something like"rights, you have no rights" Dorner has accomplished more than those whose job it is to ensure tose things are not happening.

This is Chris Dorner. If you're listening to this, you are the resistence. Listen carefully, if we attack tonight, our humanity is lost. Command wants us to fight like machines. They want us to make cold, calculated decisions. But we are not machines! And if we behave like them, then WHAT IS THE *POINT* IN WINNING? Command is going to ask you to attack Skynet. I am asking you not to. If even one bomb drops on Skynet before sunrise, our future will be lost. So please stand down. Give me time to protect the future that all of us are fighting for. This is Chris Dorner.

I wonder how other people in California who have lost children feel about this huge manhunt?

Many people have their children murdered, often by worse people than this guy (he did not, for example, rape and torture his victims) yet, at best, they get what they often see as a half hearted homicide investigation and many murderers remain at large. How do these parents of murdered children feel about the police "looking after their own"- do they feel cheated in any way by the disparity in responses?

Officers often violate or dish out abuses to innocent family members of those they consider suspect. Whether or not the suspect is actually guilty of an offense. Dorner was well aware of that. As the LAPD itself stated "He knows what he's doing". They weren't just talking about training....

Ok I have been following this since the beginning. The biggest thing that stands out is the lack of real information out there. We are told he is a bad ass that he was very good at his job and is one of the best of his training class very strong very well armed etc..
yet they say he is leaving gear all over the place and not in commonsense cache locations. for example he left a helmet belt and ammo in a dumpster WTF if he was planning on coming back for it why not in a drain under some rocks behind or in a grease dumpster one that would not be checked or thrown out regularly.

Then he supposedly left weapons and cold weather gear in a truck he then set on fire. where is the inventory list of what was in the truck? why wouldn't he bury the gear and rifle nearby as a back up, if all else fails.
why would he torch it what weapons where found where they like 22s or his .50 cal that makes a huge difference as far as analyzing this goes if it was what could be considered a primary weapon he may be trying to give up and dispose of his weapons. who knows what is going through his head now if its a simple bolt action or 22 that was found. that would tell me he is trying to leave false clues but without real information from the authorities we are at a serious disadvantage to try and figure this out.

In addition why has there been no further action by him, we don't know who shot at the 3rd officer and the 2 cops who where shot where attempting to pull him over so that was self defense and who knows who killed that couple that started this mess assuming it was him who killed the original couple and shot the 3rd cop that is only 2 in over a week actions he has taken.
And here we are staring at each other through an electronic............ error goto ram

I had the same thought. Many have killed far more people and have not elicited a response like the one wer're seeing in this case. The double standard. I saw an interview on TV of an ex police chief who said this guy is not that dangerous as people make him sound. The guy had just BASIC police training, just enough to allow him to get in a patrol car alone. He was ex-Navy and was assigned to a support unit and had NOTHING to do with combat (he was stuck on a ship). I served in the Army and Navy for 12 years, this guys a punk next to the training I got. I run into him I'm 100% positive I'd take him down in quick fashion.

It's because the bird they're hunting can sing a whole opera, which could take down the LAPD's candy castle. You can tell from names/dates on his manifesto, he's been very good at documentation, even though he spelled Know "now" toward the end, I found him resonably literate.

There will be lots of sitting duck cops for security, directing traffic, etc.

*reasonably - consider yourself red-penned.

You also need to retype that "the bird they're hunting can sing a whole opera, which could take down the LAPD's candy castle" line. This time type in a James Cagney voice. It'll be awesomely film noir.

I believe we are seeing a very public psychological operation in play here. Do I believe this Dormer fellow has snapped and gone rogue? Yes indeedy.

LAPD's SIS are a group of very crafty cops who use improvization, deception, surveillance, top investigative skills and violence of action to capture or kill the worst criminals in their jurisdiction - from serial killers to bank robbery crews, to gangs, to... rogue former policemen working their way down a hit list.

Knowing as we do that it's likely Dormer suffers from some type of a pathological narcissism disorder, some creative editing of his letter may be a good way to make him surface. They are probably of the opinion that he will attempt to contact the media to "correct" his manifesto. They could be right, time will tell...

I believe that the recent announcement by the LAPD's Chief of Police that they would investigate Dormer's claims is a second attempt at flushing him out. They may expect the bad guy to make contact in order to clear his name or "testify" at an internal affairs inquiry. Obviously it's a ruse.

I get the feeling that this could be bigger than the Rodney King incident if it ends badly. By "ends badly", I mean if Dormer is taken into custody alive rather than killed in a shootout or by suicide. He will be a martyr whether he takes a .40 cal tylenol and goes down for the dirt nap with Baby Jesus or not, but he is able to inflict far less damage to his former police colleagues and their department if he's a dead martyr. If he survives and pleads "not guilty", it may become scary. In California there are precedents of "sure-thing" murder convictions resulting in acquittal. The famous OJ Simpson trial is just one example. That scenario would be an absolute nightmare for the City of Los Angeles.

It will be interesting to see how this all pans out.

I got the feeling this guy was smart enough to create a presence for the media to grab hold of before starting his war.

What horrible pics would they have found elsewhere to splatter all over the news? He wanted to give the public a personality they could identify with and warm up to.

...I mean come on! Look at that smile! The guy has heart and looks like an honorable badass in service of his country.

Now take someone like that and fuck them in the ass like the LAPD did and you get what you have now. They ruined his life cause some stupid pig bitch had to kick a mentally retarded kid in the face after he was already restrained and this guy's conscious could not simply ignore that so he did something about it and they ruined him for it. Not just his job but his military career which was something he was very proud of.

These pigs are going to get what they deserve and they are the one's who caused this. NOT Dorner! they put him on this path that he now feel obligated to carry out. They took everything from him for nothing and what does a man do once he has nothing left to lose?

When there is no justice left what is one to do? ...well this guy is using his skills and training to do what he can.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8443185

Wrong. HE is responsible for what he did. Many people are pushed to the brink, for many different reasons. When no justice is left what is one to do?! Really?? One is to deal with it. Not go on a sociopathic rage filled murdering spree.
 Quoting: Little Willow

When is enough enough? When is there a breaking point?

Cops get to go around shooting and beating whoever and whatever they want for little to no reason at all with little to no repercussions.

They took a good man and made him a monster.

Keep in mind he is a soldier he was trained to kill. He was sanctioned to murder for the government and has likely already done so in patriotic service and is familiar with death. That being the case death no longer has the same weight it does for you or I.

You act like these cops are good people. They are not and are responsible for the death and suffering of many unjustly.

He discovered a big serious corruption problems first hand in the police department and it disillusioned him and ruined his life. You think it is all about himself and revenge? If so you are wrong. This is about bullshit that has been allowed to perpetuate and grow within our so called "peace keepers" service. There are very few good cops now and they keep their mouths shut and cover for the bad ones or they would lose their jobs and be a "no" cop just like this fellow.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8443185

Sad.

No,this isn't how normal people with a conscience handle things.
 Quoting: Little Willow

You still don't get it.

How do cops without a conscious handle things?

How far would you let them push you... how far would you let them push innocent people and when they are the law what are you going to do about it? there is no legal recourse. You are one of those people that just stand by and do nothing because doing something violate your so called conscious?

This is life and death. Dorner is defending his country.

You think I am condoning murder? at what point do you care enough about your country and your people that you are willing to die and kill for it? That is what is in this guy.... honor(soldier's honor) Very rare things these days and even rarer still to find it in someone capable of making a difference. Dorner is making a difference. The bigger mess this all becomes the more likely it will lead to policy changes and differences in how the police do their job. Perhaps more legal recourse against police brutality.

...and you are right he is not "normal". He is better then normal. Normal is to be a common sheeple. With a single layer "rule book" of morals you use and no sight of the bigger picture.
