I agree. I was aware of the 2012 theories since the late '90s when I read Terence Mckenna's books, but never was convinced that the year or 12/21 date would amount to anything... It always seemed too new age-y or pseudoscientific, with a lot of varying and contradictory interpretations by so-called experts. In fact, by 2010 I was basically certain nothing would happen, with the possible exception of "maybe TPTB will pull a false flag of some sort to make it APPEAR that the 2012 doom prophecies are true".

I am firmly in the camp of "no one can know the time", to paraphrase that bible quote. I do believe things are getting more and more heated, geopolitically, economically, environmentally, etc, and eventually SOMETHING huge will happen. But I'm not convinced it will happen this year or next year and I'm pretty much turned off to date-specific prophecies at this point.
