a lot of vets end up homeless but maybe its because the army atractts people who are a bit dumb...

lets be honest you dont need to be Einstien to get in the army

All those commenting are unqualified to do so as they are obviously either army rejects, were too fat to get in, jealous,commies or just plain loser trolls and cowards.

You may be right but getting back to the subject, some of the 65 suicides a day must be by intelligent people, given just the law of averages, so I don't think intelligence is at work here. What is?

By the way, there are plenty of highly intelligent people in the military.

I know there are some intelligent people in the army. I met many when I was in. And you are right about the causes. If you have ever experienced even ONE really traumatic event in your life, it can stay with you until you die. I did, and it has. Imagine these soldiers seeing a 6 year old kid having his head blown off, even if he didn't do it.

So when are you leaving for the Iranian front?

There isn't going to be one, but I am sure I will be busy somewhere else.

the whole military industy has a design flaw...veterans

for the industry to work smoothly when a soldier ended to serve should be dead.

no repair, no social cost, not bad publicity

that's why now as soon as you train they give you a cocktail of of vaccines that will make sure you want live for more than a couple of years after you served

Great post. I see that you are posting from Italy which shows that this veteran "problem" for governments probably exists all over the world. I think another aspect of this is that veterans are outside of the military and not subject to have to obey government orders, and they are trained in the use of weapons and warfare. If YOU were the president of any country, like Barry Obama, would you feel comfortable with hundreds of thousands of trained ex soldiers who might not like the way you are ruling? Enough to keep the guy up at night.

Can't the veterans be useful already and go off some crooked politicians/cops instead of offing themselves ???
