Zone Alarm does not stop Spyware, and it is run by an Israeli company with ties to the Mossad.

If you want to feel secure get rid of the Zionist hackware, and get a real firewall.

I have a router.

And Zone Alarm does not stop cookies.

If YOU initiate a contact nothing is done to stop it.

FIrewalls protect against hackers, not spyware, or adware.

You are 20 times safer by simply using Firefox.

Sorry, but...Angel is correct for once...

ZA does nothing for tracking cookies etc...If that is all you are doing, then you are not as secure as you think...

Run AdAware and Spy-Bot S&D once a week, and then do a Hijack-This scan and save the log...If it changes, you have a problem...

If anyone is still using anything from Symantec (Nortons, etc) then dump that and run AVG Free instead...

Arch~Angel that shows you know absolutley nothing about zone alarm. Here is a pic I found to show you that Every site you visit you get to choose what cookies are allowed in and what cookies are not.

ZA is a great firewall I have no complaints

BTW I use mozilla and adaware and spybot and kaspersky AV & Kas anti hacker and a router. Just so you know, a router does not stop spyware either.

That's a bit of over kill don't you think??

I have a router, run MS anti-spyware, AVG antivirus and cookie wall.

I update and scan once a month with Adaware and SpyBot S&D. (never finds anything)

Also keep Spyware Blaster updated

No firwall except for the router and Windows Firewall.

I installed ZA Security suite on my laptop 2 weeks ago.

First scanning of the ZA Anti-Spyware took out over 60 spy- and ad-wares, including the very annoying "popupper".

Zone Alarm is said to now be a Trojan Horse from Checkpoint Systems in Israel.

I wouldn't go near it with a ten foot pole.

Also, WEP encryption has been cracked. Any competent hacker can be in within a few minutes. You need to use WPA.

LOL WEP encryption has been cracked.
A, they would have to run an entire network of computers for weeks to crack 128bit encryption.
And B. I know for a fact there are no competent hackers on my street in range of my Wi-FI.

Theres only 3 other wireless networks in range of my adapter and i know who they are.

oh course the easyest way would be to find out the ip address for my netgear router and crack the router password to lock me out. But of course i would just use the manual reset button and change the password.
If they did get into the router i would change the password to somthing like

The FBI recently did a demo where they cracked a strong key WEP in 2.5 minutes using tools available for free on the internet. If you doubt that, look it up on google. You have a false sense of security which is what usually happens to people who think they know a lot but really don't.

ZoneAlarm: Is Your Firewall Spying On You?
Tuesday, January 24, 2006

By Paul Hales in Jerusalem
22 January 2006

IT'S OBVIOUS, REALLY, that the best way of penetrating users' PCs to see what they get up to online would be to become a Firewall maker. Like, when I wanted a Firewall and was too tight to pay for one, I turned to Checkpoint's little freebie Zone Alarm. It sits there between you and the Internet and lets you know when someone's trying to sneak in through your backdoor or when a program you're running tries to connect to the Web for no apparent reason. When you're as techie as me--not very--you just have to trust it.

Of course, Checkpoint's an Israeli company and as a foreign journalist working in Israel you know the hyperactive security services here would like to keep tabs on you. And you know that they do. It has been confirmed to me by a security sources here that mobile phone conversations I have had have been listened to ? and in circumstances which I won't reveal, the contents of a call I have been involved in have actually been relayed back to me.

It's part of the game--like the airport interrogation, or the surreptitious copying of your notepad while you're off having a body search. You know what goes on but you have a job to do and just get on with it--hoping that what you get up to in the legitimate pursuit of your business won't upset anyone to the extent that they'll come break your door down and cart you off somewhere.

Now, the handsomely-named Mr Cringely has revealed that a colleague of his at Infoworld noticed that Zone Alarm 6.0 was sneakily sending off data to four different servers. Cringely says that Zone Labs (acquired by Checkpoint in March of 2004) at first denied the activity for a couple of months before deciding the software had a "bug" even though, as he points out, "the instructions to contact the servers were set out in the program's XML code."

The company says it will fix the "bug" soon. In the meantime you can work around it by adding:
# Block access to ZoneLabs Server
127.0.0.1 zonelabs.com
to your Windows host file.

The "bug" seems to be present in the retail version of Zone Alarm, so there's no telling what the freebie gets up to. We called Checkpoint here in Israel to find out, but were referred to a US spokeszoner. Trouble is they'll all be in bed there on this sunny Sunday morning.

Re: Who surfs the net without using a Zonealarm firewall?
Dude if I had the FBIs computer resources i could hack 128bit WEP with ease with whats avalible on the net.

Yea the tools are avalible but you still have to know how to use them. And you prefferably need a supercomputer.

I seriously Doubt the FBI are going to bring a portable BlueGene L down within range of my WEP to try and hack it.
And im pretty sure their notebooks are not that powerfull, unless they have some seriously fast black op hardware, reverse engineerd from alien technology.
