If there is an EMP bomb, you need to be in a car or on a boat that has a diesel engine. Apparently diesels aren't affected by EMPs because they don't contain spark plugs.

An EMP would not affect 2-cycle engines and small motors like a mini bike or go cart--anything with a pull start should be good to go.

2 strokes & pull start still has a magneto/spark plug coil.

Not sure how fragile electronics have to be before getting fried in an EMP?
Obviously the planes that dropped the nukes were ok. Same with the hundreds of cameras and mikes, geiger counters, etc. that recorded all the nuke tests, as well as the military vehicles & communications present. Didn't seem to bother them. But that was the 1950-60s...
