I've been in one going on 20yrs, back when I "organized" it just seemed the best thing for myself and young family due to the fact that the best electrical contractors in my area are signatory even in a right to work state. I'm pretty close to ending my "relationship" with the IBEW, can't stand the BS and to make matters worse they are backing gun control now.

Also I don't care what anyone's opinion is, so before you spout off about me being in the IBEW just know I don't give two shits about your opinion. I did the best thing for my family and if I had to do it over I wouldn't change a thing.

Unioners HAVE insurance, and now they find out the lie, "if you have insurance that you like, you can keep it!"

Yeah you can, but it probably won't be eligible for the Obamacare Gold, Silver, or Bronze standards...which means you will get to keep your insurance, but have to pay the tax to the government as well...

THEN of course, when they start forcing insurance companies to allow people with pre-existing conditions into plans next year, and that health insurance plan you like so much will triple in cost...and you'll get to pay that too!!!

This article/post is poorly written. The AFL-CIO is the parent or what unions call "the international". The IBEW, Boilermakers, UAW, 49's, etc etc are all affiliated with the AFL-CIO. It's one of the greatest pyramiding schemes in history. The money travels upwards and makes the renegger in chief the main recipient of the money. The lowly memebers that take time off of work to chant "union YES" at their local political events are the ones getting screwed. It's funny to watch some fat bastard hit a fox news guy and know that he is the one that is getting completely screwed....and singing a song about how good it is. The unions should at least give a reach around!

Here's the story:

Unions will be forced to cover stuff under Obamacare that they were/are not covering under their current plans. That's the real reason they want out.

They knew this all along so what they want now is either an exemption from covering certain items, or government subsidies.

In the end the union will get what they want because they are in tight with the Democrats.
