how come when we were little, there were ALWAYS porn mags in the woods?

I remember finding an ass load of porn in the woods next to a charred mattress spring thing (the bed was completely burned)when I was about 8. My friends and I stole all of the playboy and penthouse mags and stashed them in the backyard club house.

When my mom and step dad found them, the look I got was pretty horrific for weeks.

They looked at me like I strangled my own grandma.

They were underage and didnt want to get busted I'm guessing

15 years ago, I was 13 years old, and the best way to find porn was IRC, downloading small clips on 56k took a long time.

Seems it could be a global phenomenon, here in the uk, when i was a kid which was the 70s and 80s, porn mags in the woods was fairly commonplace.

What i did notice also, was that if the wood was near a motorway, it had an even higher chance of yeilding porn.

90% of the time, the mags were sadly ripped up. Never understood why.

i worked it out a few days ago, because a super predator/s set the site up(and yes its global, should tell you something), gets the local imbalanced to come and indulge their lust in a seclude open place, whilst no doubt they are under surveillance, then hoping as word goes out surreptitiously in the local community especially amongst more adventurous children, to get children investigating the site, then i imagine try to groom them, or just molest them.
I remember seeing at least 2 setups like this when i was younger in the antipodes.

The woods were the place to anonomously stash your porn before the internet.

Ahh...memories, memories. Reminds me of when I was a kid 40 years ago, after the first real thaw of spring and finding a Playboy under a rock in the woods. I can even recall the creased pages and slightly moldy odor and I flipped through the newly discovered porn.
