Looks like I missed everyone. We have been working with the foster daughter getting her room fixed up. I told her after more than a year it was time to get her clothes out of boxes and into the dresser and hung up in the closet. The closet and dresser have always been there, but she never really unpacked. I think it made her feel good to settle in. We also bought her a brand new full size bed. Brought it home all wrapped up in plastic. She was really shocked, she has not had many "new" things. Really puts things in perspective for our kids.

You, my dear friend, are my hero! I've always wanted to foster, but could never get my act together. I have a hard time keeping up with what/who I already have.

I don't know if I'm a hero, but I couldn't send her back to those conditions. We had some real bumps along the way. We have set rules, non negotiable on school, checking in, etc. She had some adjustments to make because I don't think there were any rules for her growing up. Her mom was not a role model in any sense of the word.
