Re: Coffee Klatch
Glad insurance will pay, Flav and hope SO is right that you just claim it.

It sounds like you have a good Sheriff keeping you up to date on Elsie's meanderings. LOL. It came to mind right away, watching that video.

Have hesitated to ask about Pete's friend and his teaching. UGH. Did they actually do the deed, or did he tell him, or what? If they actually did it, was it horrible?

Think they castrate the male pigs when they're real little to avoid that strong taste. Glad you have more females in this litter.

When is Elsie going to have a baby? When she does, are you going to milk her? Sure would be awesome to have that fresh milk. Not so awesome doing it early morning and evening every day, day after day, week after week.

SO, glad you're enjoying the baby. Bet he's a little sweetie. Baby's mamma must really be enjoying it too. Get's pretty exhausting when they're little. They're as lucky to have you as you are to have them.
 Quoting: Nine's

Yes Pete and his friend did the deed with the pig and I didn't watch or even see anything until there was no head, feet or skin and it looked like butcher meat. We are going to castrate some of the males next week. I want to keep one not castrated and we are doing that rubber band method on the others. As for Elsie, her utters are getting big but honestly she doesn't look like shes pregnant. She's bigger than she was but not much bigger. She only got out that once, now she likes it here but she still doesn't really care for me. She tolerates me if I feed her, but mostly she really seems to prefer men. She jumps around like a dog when my son comes around and Pete too sometimes.

I would never try to milk her, she has yet to let me even touch her. Only Pete has been able to touch her.

Pete sure is game for trying things, isn't he? If you could stand to do it, at least you know exactly how it was taken care of and that you have safe meat. Bet that's going to be a 3 ring circus banding those piglets. HAHAHA.

If Elsie's udders are getting are getting big, bet you'll be having a calf soon. Hoping so! How exciting that would be.

That's cute about Elsie and the guys. Regarding the bolded.....YESSSS, make Elsie a milk cow. What a guy Pete is. 8)

LOL Pete is a good guy but milking a cow twice a day, the poor thing would pop. Pete isn't a schedule kind of guy.

Oldest daughter and grandson left yesterday. Had myself a pity party. Cried so much my eyes were almost swollen shut. I have to figure out a way to get past the "See you soon" part. Hope to see them in February.

We had a few family/close friends get togethers while they were here. Had to laugh at a conversation I overheard hubby having. A friend we have had for many years asked where our son in law was. Hubby didn't skip a beat - he said our son in law is in Korea but the baby daddy was on temporary duty in Guam. LOL True life can be better than fiction! lol

Poor thing, SO. My heart goes out to you. Good byes are SO hard. The "see you soon" thing is always best, and it will be soon. Time enough to rest up, plan some fun, and get a few things to spoil that baby....again. 8)

We decided to use "See you soon" rather than goodbye. It seems to help a bit. We hope to have the whole family together the end of February. Hubs turns 50 and youngest daughter turns 21, we are going to meet in Las Vegas. If we can find a house or condo rental then they can bring baby with them.

I always feel stupid getting so emotional. She is healthy and independent. Our grandson is healthy and a happy boy. I cry like there is no tomorrow when they leave. I'm trying to wrap my mind around the healthy, happy, independent part and let go of my pity party.

They are 1,982 miles away. Not a day trip - pretty much have to fly to visit, or take a longer vacation. Thinking ahead to when we don't have to work so much. It would be nice to buy a small house there. They have some beautiful old homes that sell for about $60,000. Thank goodness for video phone calls. We laugh and say our grandson will know us as Granny and Grandpa floating head! lol

that would be great SO, my sil is in the same situation and she takes off on long weekends an extra day and flies out to get 4 days every three months and if its not a holiday she just takes two days.

Sometimes she flies daughter and baby here instead, then they stay longer cause daughter doesn't have to work

I'm thinking if we can see each other 3 times a year we are doing good. Still looking into purchasing a small home there - hotels are so expensive and I hate having to eat at restaurants for meals. I figure if we buy the place now, it will be paid for by the time we can retire. Then we can bounce back and forth for visits.

Hey guys! I just wanted to pop in quick to let you know we're finally moving! I have to find out about phone/internet/and maybe cable, this week. I might be off-line for awhile. It depends on what's available and the cost. Being out in the sticks, I don't have my hopes too high.

We got our fridge and mattress, but not much else until I can get back home. Things are SO looneytoons around here. When I get organized, I will have the longest stories to tell!

Everyone take care. I'll miss y'all until I get back. I'll still be hooked up tonight, so I'll check in later on.

Nine's, cell service is good at the house and I'll text you the address soon.

Who'd have thought we'd have so much little stuff in a hotel room!?! Just not enough boxes. I have to load and unload! LOL

Very happy for you TB. All the work will seem worth it when you get settled into a place where you can pursue your interests as you choose and be able to cook when and what you'd like.

Glad your cell service is good and will be happy when you're reconnected.

Glad too, that you checked in. Wanted to let you know that the heartbreaking and disturbing situation I told you about will be resolved this week. Might take a little time to recuperate myself.

Hugs to you and best wishes for your new home. hugs

Heading down the river for 3 days. The wild and scenic section of the Rogue River. Going with my best friend (since we were 9) and her hubby and twin daughters, one of the twins husband (he is the certified river guide), plus taking hubby and our youngest. No cell phone service, tv, or electricity after 10pm. We are staying at the float in lodges for 2 nights. Great way to reset our clocks - the generators at the lodges turn off at 10pm, breakfast at 6:30. Can't wait! We went 4 years ago and have been hoping to go again ever since. We will see some great country. One of the stops is a hike into Zane Gray's cabin.

Hey guys! I've got just a minute or two, so I wanted to let y'all know I'll be off-line for awhile. Today is "finish moving out of the hotel day" and the internet isn't up at the house yet. I'll probably be off for a couple of weeks. After that, I'll have lots of time to visit.

Love you all, stay safe and don't let them break the world before I get back!

Good luck with the internet TB. Hoping it works out for you soon! Glad to hear things seem to be going well.

SO, did you make it home safely from your trip, and are the fires in that area near you?

Flav, has Mama seen the baby quilt yet, and did she love it? And how are the piggies, and do you know yet if your cow is pregnant?

Edited to add, everything here is going well now and I'm busy catching up on neglected things. Thanks for your thoughts, support, and loving messages. Means more than words can say. 8)
