Plant The Earth And Return Us To Paradise~! It's a nice idea. Methusalah being 969 years old is a little off ...they were using a lunar calendar. 969/12= about 81 YEARS old. I don't know how many blue moons occurred during his lifetime. |

Plant The Earth And Return Us To Paradise~! Dry those seeds for two days before broadcasting~! And it was 969 years that Methusalah lived respectfully~! We can argue all day long but only Methusalah would be able to say and he isn't speaking. |

Plant The Earth And Return Us To Paradise~! Great Idea but those seeds won't reproduce. Monsantos made sure of that. Quoting: Little Drummer There in lies the rub. Yes they will reproduce! There may be some failure but check your soil and water if you have your own plot and do your homework on land acceptable. I would not expect every seed thrown to react, but to give up without trying is a guarantee of a bleak future. |

Your right, I won't get anywhere if I just give up and don't try. Very cool. Thank you |

Plant The Earth And Return Us To Paradise~! Not all seed in infertile. Just do a search for "seed saving" It is actually easier than many imagine. Many garden plants are bi-annuals meaning they make a seed in the second year. What that means is you need a seed garden area (smaller than your main garden). Also - like tomatoes? Just purchase tomatoes you like at the grocery - squeeze out the seeds from the center and plant them. They are usually hybrids and won't be completely true reproductions, but the most of the new plants production will be similar if not the same as the tomato you purchased. One grocery tomato has enough seed for many plants. You need either a longer season or some kind of plant starter room because starting tomatoes from seed takes up to six weeks longer than purchasing potted starts. |

Probably a good idea to only do this with heirloom tomatoes from the store. Most round red tomatoes in the store are hybrids. There is nothing wrong with hybrids, most of us are hybrids. It's just that if you try to plant a seed from most tomatoes in the store, you will end up growing cherry tomatoes. Heirloom tomatoes are open pollinated and the seeds from them will produce plants that will have the same type of tomatoes as the parent plant. Pm me if you have any tomato questions. I can't claim to be a giant expert in anything, but I do raise thousands of tomato plants every year so I know something. Last Edited by samanthasunflower on 03/01/2013 11:12 AM |
