Matt 24 Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?

This teaches me that they knew He would leave and then return.

v. 7 Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. 8 But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come

Interesting that Jesus says these are "the first of the birth pains" with MORE to come!!!

This seems to be the a certain sign that the end is upon us. I wonder if China and India have really 'heard' the gospel yet. I'd say they are being exposed to it right now.

21 For there will be greater anguish than at any time since the world began. And it will never be so great again. 22 In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a single person will survive. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones.

What will all of this "calamity" be? Any ideas?

24 For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones. 25 See, I have warned you about this ahead of time.

What will these "great signs and wonders" be???

Mt 24: 15-31.........includes many future things that will happen.


Jesus warns us in advance.......that when you see the abomination of desolation (as spoken of by Daniel the prophet) standing in the holy place.....


"then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains."


"Let him who in on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house.


"And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes."


Just these few verses say a lot. I do not feel that Christ would tell people to do this......only to let them starve in the wilderness.


He will take care of you in a supernatural manner in the wilderness.......just as He did to Israel when they fled Egypt.


Taking that first step......toward the wilderness......without anything.......will require the faith of David......when he went out to meet Goliath.


This type of faith, in my opinion, needs to developed in advance.....with God's help.

"He was granted power TO GIVE BREATH TO THE IMAGE of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed." (Rev. 13: 14-15)

The Abomination is therefore, in my opinion, a statue of the man of evil that is set up, placed there, and seen standing in Jerusalem.


It is able to talk......and also has the power to put people to death.

29 “Immediately after the anguish of those days,

the sun will be darkened,
the moon will give no light,
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.[g]




30 And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth


The "sign" that the Son of Man appears in the heavens and it seems this will inspire deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth!!!

What will this "sign" be??? Can you imagine how many people will be saved as a result of this???

And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.


31 And he will send out his angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world from the farthest ends of the earth AND HEAVEN.


I plan to look at a few translations but isn't it interesting that God's Kingdom pulls from Earth and Heaven. I think [i will check] other translation will say from the farthest ends of the earth and universe!!!

Some Scriptures speak of a Universal Work of Jesus Christ.

After perhaps months of worldwide darkness.....with the elites hiding in fear in caves.....and declaring God's wrath is about the begin (6th seal).....


I feel that the sign will be a bright flash of light from the eastern horizon to the west. They will also see the Lord in the clouds.


"For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be."


This is a possibility......a great flash of light after a prolonded period of darkness.......but the sign could also be something else as well. It is difficult to say with certainty.

So it looks like many people across the world will be

"terrified" at what they see coming toward the Earth

because "the powers in the heavens will be shaken."

Very next sentences...

28 So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!”

So when all of these things "begin to happen"...

Well, I'd say the "nations in distress" and the

"roaring of the seas" has already begun to happen!!!

34 “Watch out! Don’t let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don’t let that day catch you unaware,
35 like a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth.
36 Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man.”

It is part of LDS (Mormon) doctrine that Jesus Christ died for the sins of all those within the realm of God's creation, and that God created 'worlds without number' that harbor their own human populations. The reason Christ's mission took place here, on THIS earth, was because of all the worlds of God's creation, this world was the only one that was evil enough to take the life of their own savior.

To think that we live on the most evil world of all of creation gives me encouragement - how much greater will be the eternal reward for standing fast and 'enduring until the end'?

I just checked about 7 different translations and they do agree that The Word is saying a "sign" will appear in the heavens [sky?] BEFORE the Lord Jesus returns!

Yes, the Word of God keeps encouraging us to pray so that we will have the strength to 'stand' before the Son of Man.
