Sarc he changed his name from Simon to Peter Peter as a name didnt exist because Simon the weak apostle, the doubter, the denier, was going to become Peter the Rock he tried to leave Rome because of the persecutions, and Christ made him turn back, because it was his destiny to die in Rome, to be the foundation rock of the Catholic church Consider this, very very hard: Luke 13:33 ... surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! I was very luke warm and laid back till recently about it all I am so grateful for my Faith. I wish others could share in this as we do. Ive recently discovered the beauty of Traditional Mass etc.. Its a new me and I am so grateful. If only others could experience this without judging according to what they hear and are told. The Catholic Church is so much more than can be explained. It has to be lived. Its a gift. A beautiful gift of the spirit. My wish is to serve God and the Catholic Church as a lay person. I don't think most of them have even set foot inside a Catholic church, or sat through a Mass, their opinions are based on what they are told. I'm a convert, became a Catholic in my early twenties, but left and followed the self-god for a long time. She is a precious gift, more than is expressable, I'm discovering so much I didn't understand or couldn't appreciate before. Wild horses couldn't keep me away now ;) The beautiful Latin Traditional Mass. Just recently discovered it. The wonderful souls met through the years, nameless saints. So many nuns that Ive met which are absolutely amazing souls, with such wisdom, insight, humility , love , goodness, who will remain anonymous and the media will never talk about. Priests that dedicate themselves to others. So many people that are amazing that I can look up to, that give life another meaning. So many lay people that make life a daily prayer. To sanctify your daily life. I havent found this anywhere else. The media wont show you this. I haven't been to a Latin Mass, but I can imagine it is beautiful. After years of speaking with so called enlightened folks, and listening to the the men and women they proclaimed wise and holy, it was almost a shock to discover in my little town, inside the church, a roomful of men and women who are so unassuming, so humble, yet so devoted to practising love and possessing real wisdom. The priest was a young Indian man, whose face shone with purity and the honour of his vocation. Hardly anyone knows these people are there.. we now have an Irish priest, who has spent the last twenty years in Ghana, he has added his own touch to the Mass, so different from the Indian priest's, but with the same devotion, our faith truly is universal, it amazes me. I think the church is growing in strength, she is flexing her spiritual muscles, it's an exciting time to be in the church too, more of the truth will come out with the Papal elections. |

Same deal, started going about the same time. you won't regret it, that's at least three of us then, on GLP, part of the same body :) And it only takes two to pray in Christs name, we are on a winner :) :hf: As long as there is one Catholic left with a Rosary in his or her hands our Church will live on But we will do more than that peters ship will face the dark storm and come sailing through. And those on his ship will survive. Nothing was coincidence in Christs life. the Catholic Church is not named Peters boat just cos Its symbolism Like Christ helped them to fish when no fish were expected so the Catholic Church has grown in numbers against all vicisitudes and historical events As when the stormy waters scared Peter and the others on the boat, so Christ came to their aid and calmed the waters so too will Christ come to the aid of the Church and it will survive because not even the gates of hell wiull or can prevail against it because it has a spiritual mission especially now in these end times Yes, it only takes two, and we agree, so the powers of darkness must be shaking in their boots :) Spiritually, in a mystical way, what will also happen is the consummation of Christ and his bride, the church, what comes from that will change humanity forever. |

Ya'll really need to read your bible! New Jerusalem is the HOLY CITY that DESCENDS from God OUT OF HEAVEN to the earth after Jesus comes the 2nd time and we spend the 1000 year millenium in heaven. It is NOT anywhere here on earth UNTIL that time and then the bible says Jesus will touch the mount of olives and it will become a great plain for the city to land on. Seriously, stop trying to concoct all these false theories and allow the bible to be your guide for truth! |
