Russia is one of the key players in the world before Jesus comes back. Many people discounted the Russians after the Soviet Union fell in the early 1990's, and Eastern Europe went democratic, but in reality prophecy could not be attained without the fall of the Soviet Union.
Ezekiel mentions Russia going for a spoil. That spoil may not be in Israel, but generally Middle Eastern oil or maybe Syrian treasures.
I believe the Russians and Iranians are waiting for the right moment. Russia knows it cannot fight the United States and Israel on its own, and it needs the Iranians to keep the US busy on the eastern flank, which we call the Persian Gulf. When Iran reaches the nuclear capability in which the Russians believe will keep the United States busy, then that is when the Russians and Iranians will make their move.Read more here: [ link to www.pastorbrianroberts.com]
