South Mississippi,right on the beach on the Gulf of Mexico, Biloxi. No booms as of yet, staying up pretty late tonight,(am) so I am going to keep my ears open. I live near Keesler Air Force Base, which is two blocks north of the beach on the Gulf of mexico.

I have heard them before, but never could find the cause, the town I am in sounded like it as under attack from the sounds. Never was there any explanations of those booms, and very loud.

If I was going to do it there is lots of swamp around so going underwater in a container might be an added option as it also get you away from the insects and in winter it is self heating as the moss keeps the frost away.

I know a lot of military having been doing artillery training the last few days. Im from gadsden alabama but i now live near ft stewart area in georgia and there have been hundreds of booms the last 2 days even shaking the house. Im willing to bet that 20th sfg have been doing artillery training at pelham range near alexandria and anniston where their special operations training detatchment is located.

That's interesting, I heard something similar in NJ last night around 10 to 11 pm. I thought it was thunder at first but there were no flashes. It was loud enough to make the windows rattle. We have a bomb range north of us so maybe they are training again. Last time that happened was just before desert storm.

I live on the Tennessee/Alabama border in the Florence, AL area. I was out in the barn working on my hobby, and didn't hear anything. But I am in a really rural area.
