Strange sights during hailstorm/ west Texas

A couple of weeks ago, just after the Russian meteor, I was traveling in west Texas near the New Mexico border.

A pretty nice hail storm broke out. As I was in the middle of nowhere I had to keep driving. I looked up and could see little balls of light in the sky, like some meteorites were burning up.

You could not see the trail, just a little round blob of light in the sky. Appear then fade away and more appear.

I delivered the newspaper at night for 4 years once and never saw this before.

Looked like tiny meteorites flaring up in the clouds and burning out.
