If this declaration to cancel the Armistice is for real, than this means that the 1953 Korean War, of communist Korea Vs the U.N., officially RESUMES.

Problem I suspect is that the North Korean military is likely calling more of the shots now that Kim Jong-il has passed, and his son has taken the stage. I posted this on another thread, and think it provides some insights here too -

I think Kim Jong-un is not the real power in North Korea. He is there as a figurehead that the people can bond with.

If you look at the many pictures of Kim Jong-un with his now deceased father, Kim Jong-il, there is always a high ranking military guy between them. I heard that this is his uncle (no GLP joke intended), but honestly don't know for sure if there is a family connection. All I do know is that in Asia, the positional arrangements of where you are standing, sitting, etc. are very important and not done by accident.

To me, this would also help explain the aggressive military driven posture going on.

My opinion? Truly, I think if they were going to go through with it, they would just do it. No warning, no talks, nothing. They have threatened so many times in the past, that it's almost laughable now.

I hope for all the innocent people involved on both sides that I am right- I truly don't want to see people get nuked, maimed, or injured/killed one way or another.

You guys really think it will all goo down as simple as.. 3.2.1 launch?

N. Korea threatens all-out war ahead of S. Korea-U.S. military drill

SEOUL, March 10 (Yonhap) -- North Korea drummed up threats of an all-out nuclear war with South Korea and the U.S. on Sunday, one day ahead of the two allies' planned joint military drill which the communist country denounces as targeting the North.

"Our front-line military groups, the army, the navy and the air force, the anti-aircraft units and the strategic rocket units, who have entered the final all-out war stage, are awaiting the final order to strike," North Korea's Rodong Sinmun, the most widely circulated daily published by the governing Workers' Party of Korea, said. The country's nuclear arms are also prepared for combat, it said.

"Puppet regimes in the U.S. and South Korea will be turned into a sea of fire in the blink of an eye" if a war breaks out, the newspaper said, repeating the threats of a nuclear war the country has issued in recent weeks over the joint war exercise.

The newspaper also carried propaganda poems in the same issue, rallying support for the country's threats to fight with the two enemy states.

Last night I had a dream about driving through the mountains of Korea thinking how beautiful they looked and then down toward a populated area which had smog. I was looking for a gas station to refuel and then wanted directions to the airport so that I could fly home. I saw station with an internet link and logged on. After surfing the net for a bit I noticed that communications were being monitored. The clothing of some of the people (children) was simple and attractive. I tried to pay for my time on the net and the gas but they wouldn't give me a receipt. Then I was at a meeting of a small group who were waiting for the inauguration of someone at around 2 am. The group was in a countdown and then celebrated when the time passed and the person they wanted in was official.


Odd. First time ever having a dream of being in Korea.
