It is, the Church has made it overly difficult because it saves them from having to find a useful role in society. Now that the Bible is complete and computer searches saves hours for each question asked we should be further ahead than where we are. Really, 2000 years and they promote the wrong person as being the writer of the Gospel of John and revelation, if that is muddled up how are they going to accurately blend Revelation and the 4th kingdom/beat in Daniel, yet alone do it accurately. If they don't apply Isaiah 65 to the ones called 'the rest' in Re:20: and the fact they end up being alive in the new earth. What church would get endless donations if they taught that you are either welcomed into heaven by Jesus at the start of the 1,0000 years or by God Himself if that period has expired? You might get 3 months worth and by then he would know what never needs changing. The number of option can be reduced from 3500 or so down to very few just by showing the 70 weeks were one block of time and Rome was in the brass empire rather than the iron. That leaves the times in Revelation to play out (3 1/2 years) and the iron/clay covers the world for 3 1/2 years and Jerusalem, in particular, for 3 1/2 days.

Granted you will not come to that conclusion on the first read. You are better off using Revelation as a 'table of contents' and keyword searches, such as 'day of the Lord' can be applied to a single event and that can be plotted onto a timeline that is down to less that one single hour yet the detail is still there. A side effect is seeing it fit together so well is proof that it is not an ordinary book.

Two events that were prophecy and fulfilled are linked in such a subtle way that is seldom referenced today as a basis for any doctrine. If you are expecting to be 'raptured' my doctrine is based on one verse as a summary and a lot of hints in various passages. Rapture meaning going to see god and arrived prejudged as being 'perfected' then it is the static population that has been on the earth for the 1,000 year reign and are removed to the 3rd heaven and the location of the GWT event. They can enter New Jerusalem as soon as they meet God as He has business with 'the rest' who will purified to the same level as the ones alive for the 1,000 years were on they first day of the 1,000 years.

Mesh the 36 or so passages from the OT that deal with the day of return and the picture is quite clear, all by itself. Thinking that step can be avoided and still get it right is flawed thinking.
